Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Hideki Kamiya disgusted at Capcom's gimping Okami for the Wii

I can totally uderstand this mans frustration and I would also be frustrated if it's me but it's not and for what I hear the pro's far outweigh the cons in the Wii version so isn't it best to play the Wii version then youtube the real ending to see what you missed?

I guess it just depends on what you think about other people getting f*cked, that's all.  I believe a creator should be acknowledged for his creation.  And if the PS2 had the end credits, and no real accusations of lock ups, etc, just get the PS2 version.  I guess its a philosophical stance or someting, lol.

if I didn't play this game and trust me i really want this game then who is missing out really? you're right I could go out and buy a ps2, copy of okami and a memory card and that "philosiphical stance" would be a snip at around £100.00.

This anyway would make a hypocrit as I personally feel Capcoms efforts have brought me many hours of fun with RE4, REUC, Z&W, and thats before I even get to Devil May Cry on the 360 and Phoenix Wright series on the DS and I'm not gonna turn my back on this on the strength of one mans blog.

Actions speak louder than words for me and if the version does lock up and prove to be gimped then I will take it back and voice my disgust on these forums and so on but no one individual is gonna prove to me that Capcom are not worthy of my money and Okami isn't worth a punt.

Pretty sad how people are flaming onimusha for supporting the original clover staff.

They're flaming him for posting a whiny crybaby thread about a minor non-issue that nobody save a few malcontents cares about. There's a big difference.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

No credits? Now when I beat the game I won't have time to go and get a drink and a snack while names scroll down the screen.

I think I'll live.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I you were a member of the staff you would care.  If you did something great and your work went unrecognized you would be pissed too.  Of course the average gamer doesn't care, but credits are there for a reason and it's f*cked up that they were removed.  Most people only care about what's good for them, so in light of that I can understand your position.

It was like a 4-man team, I can forgive. It was probably wise of Capcom not to spend too much on this port, because even if these minor problems were fixed, I don't think it would improve sales.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I know it would have improved sales Ben, because I am not NOT buying the game when I was going to.

This is stupid. What Capcom and the studio that ported the game, have done is very disrespectful and I will not support this. Imagine if Twin Snakes, which was made by Silicon Knights, removed Kojima's name from the credits and opening scenes. There would be outrage!

I'm trying to figure out what "lazy pointer accuracy" Onimusha is talking about. There is nothing inaccurate unless you lack the ability to use the Wiimote effectively. The learning curve is steeper, but the ability to draw with the Wiimote increases the speed and accuracy of drawing in the game astronomically. I don't own the Wii version, but even an hour on my friend's Wii version was enough to know that the painting controls are greatly improved from my PS2 version.

Also, I'm sorry that Clover was left out of the credits, but that in no way stops it from being a great game that people should purchase. I do think that it was a dirty move by Capcom.  I'll be buying Okami for the 2nd time (already have the PS2 version) later this month.
