Lazard says Wii production will hit (has already hit) 1.5 million per month. There's no way they're going to ship them all, however. Most likely, they'll be stockpiling to ensure that they're not beaten by PS3/X360 over the holiday season

Here are the actual sales numbers WW for this site. This way everybody can see how the sales are actually trending WW instead of going off of memory or guessing.

mrstickball I thank your PS3 numbers are too high. Look at how the sales have bee trending. Dropping dramatically week by week since Europe lauch. I dont think we are at the bottom for PS3 sales yet. I bet they keep dropping during the summer.

Your Wii numbers are probably too low still having supply issues so we dont yet know the full demand. So I dont see any sign of slowing down only going up or staying around the current levels.

Who knows about 360. Elite gave sales a boost and it is too soon to see that trend clear enough.

Those are the numbers I have too cj, but I rounded them off to the nearest thousand for my peace of mind.  But now you can verify the claims I made in the original post.

Yeah, your original post numbers are spot on. I just wanted everybody to see the week by week numbers.

Helps me see how things are trending. Thought it might help others too.

It would be silly for Nintendo to purposely hold back on supplies of the Wii at this point in time. It hurts a company's bottom line to store unsold inventory. Unless retailers are ordering fewer units (highly unlikely), then I bet Nintendo is steadily sending out units as they get them in.

I was at local Target (Oaks, PA) this afternoon (~1PM) and saw that they had a bunch of Wiis in stock. This could be a sign of softening demand, but I bet it has more to do with the holiday weekend. Mario Party 8 will probably help move any remaining systems they have later this week.

(Edit: Just a quick note that Target was holding Wii inventory for today's ad.  That's another reason they have them in stock; they weren't on display yesterday. )

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

PS3 was launched in Europe. Those are the first week figures.

I find it fascinating that the PS3 worldwide sales dropped below Wii worldwide sales after only beating Wii worldwide for one week.  It makes me wonder what could have been had Nintendo launched the N64 in 1995 and the Gamecube in 2000.  Despite lower sales in those two generations, months 1-6 in the respective time frames were similar, so I think Nintendo would have recieved more software support.  With 360 ahead worldwide but only doing well in the Americas, we really get to watch Nintendo vs Sony on terms where Nintendo has the upperhand (for the first time ever in the console arena).
