It's nice to see Catherine place in the top 20.

Also, DQ11 switch failed to place in the top 20 at all and barely made the top 10 list of Switch games. It debuted at number 11 last year on PS4. Seems like a likely bomb so far in the West.

Vouchers, very very late in Sept, very very late port. A likely bomb might be a loose term here.

We're probably never getting numbers again. NPD has deemed them top secret and off-limits to the public, and they've successfully silenced all the leakers. Unless a bunch of people pitch in for the $10,000 to buy a report or an actual competitor crops up (maybe we'll get lucky and Famitsu opens up a U.S. branch), then it's over. The best we have are the "best guess" hardware estimates from the Era threads. Truly a sad time for people who enjoy discussing game sales.

Why is this? Like what is their benefit? This is like polling companies refusing to release data on which politician gets what percentage. Nonsense!

It's because certain companies try to use sales data as "marketing". It's NOT, and I mean NOT a coincidence that a little before the Switch outsold the PS4 lifetime in Japan, Media Create was silenced. I guess that Famitsu has enough power to tell a certain company to fuck off. As for trying to silence sales trackers, its all futile. The PS4 and the PS5 will be obliterated by the Switch either way.

Wait, are you suggesting Sony doesn't want data to be revealed showing how they are selling compared to Nintendo? And that Ps5 will sell less than Switch 1?

Just wanting clarification, not implying anything.

Dragon Quest's performance in the west is odd to me. It's a series brought you by the producers of Final Fantasy, it's even developed by one of its core teams, the character designs come from one of the most iconic manga artists of all time; Dragon Quest XI in particular has astonishing artwork and it was a little pushed by Nintendo this time around for Switch. And yet, it barely cracked the top 10 of Switch titles.

I know it's a late port and it's Dragon Quest, but that's my problem, it's incredible that the series has such a limited appeal around here.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Yes and yes. First of all, the discussion about Sony "shutting down" NPD and Media create are not solely my idea. This has been discussed on Resetera and even Neogaf way back in the day. Second of all, even during the dark days of Wii U, Nintendo STILL showed sales data, unlike Microsoft who has gone radio silent on Xbox One hardware, and Sony going silent on the Vita sales. And I find it funny because it wont mean much in the end. Shutting up Media create did NOT save the PS4 in Japan. Being silent on Vita did not stop it from BOMBING. It also shows how pathetic and immature the leadership at Sony and Microsoft are.

Third of all I think the Switch is going to outsell the PS4 and the PS5 will sell LESS than the PS4. That's my prediction.

Only disappointing this was Astral Chain wasn't in the Top 20. It released at the end of August and at 10th so was hoping it would at least stay in the top 20. We'll have to see how the game did when Nintendo's official reports come out. That said, didn't realize how many games came out in September.

Though, does the December report have annual information? If so, we may only need to buy one and then estimate the rest.

I agree with you about PS5 sales, but I'm not sure Switch will sell more than PS4, I think they'll end even or maybe PS4 a little above, we have to see in the years coming

Zanark best Inazuma Eleven pg

No one talking about Gears (xbox + pc steam) is at #7 on the list?

it launched early into the month, so its basically a full month and it couldnt get into the top3 spots.
Gears used to be a system seller..... it was a reason to get a xbox, it sold like mad.

Sales must be down by huge margins compaired to older Gears games.

Gears does not include Steam, but yea..  I guess it did sell a lot of gamepass subs. It is extreme value for players right now, which on the other hands probably means MS needs tons of long time subs to actually make some profit with it, but as one of the richest companies they certainly can play the long game.
