The galaxy games got loads of GOTY awards, twilight princess, windwaker, metroid prime. Skyward sword, Wii sports got a few. Goty awards only really got popular this decade. 

They were quite popular last gen too.

twilight princess lost to Oblivion and Gears of War.

Mario Galaxy lost to Bioshock

GTA4 lost to Fallout 3

Mario Galaxy 2 lost to RDR and Mass Effect 2

Windwaker lost to Skyrim, Batman, Portal 2, and Uncharted 3.

GTAV lost to TLOU

RDR2 lost God of War

Over these two generations both Rockstar and Nintendo have had the top winner just once each. Why are these critics giving 10s to their games but not voting for them as GOTY? Do they just get the biggest fan of the franchise to review the games who keep slapping 10s on them but when the whole staff votes on GOTY it turns out not many agreed with the reviewer.

For me at least, I'm a console gamer only. PC just isn't for me and I don't want to invest into it. Halo is hands down my favorite series and always will be. Gears of war comes in close behind it, and both games I love playing online. Halo 5 is my most played game this generation because it has excellent multiplayer. There is no ps4 exclusive that has anything close to what Halo and gears offer on the multiplayer front. I love single player games too. Don't get me wrong. But I can purchase a ps4 later(like I did with my ps3) and the big exclusives Sony offers can be played whenever and I'm not missing out on anything. If I decide to play Halo and Gears later, the community will be not nearly as big than when the game first released. I'd be missing out on the best times the game will offer.

The video is just some fanboy stirring bs. "mY pRefErRED CoNsOle iS BEtTeR!" Just play the damn games that you enjoy and shut the hell up. 

Which is why Metacritic exists. An average rating of profesional opinions on games. BotW was 2017s game of the year in most mayor publications, that is all that matters. All those 10s moved switched units, in fact at one Point more copies of BotW had been sold than the console itself. I massively enjoyed HZD that year, but BotW was in truth a better game.

That Jimquisition video conveniently leaves out a few facts.

Like Amiibos.

Like Sony games coming out in the same timeframe as these Xbone games that also had microtransactions. Like Killzone, GT6, and MLB. Not to mention the slew of cosmetic and pay to win Last of Us microtransactions.

It also ignores the large amount of third party games that launched on PS4/Xbone and had microtransactions. But no no, MS is to blame LOL

Most games only get around 70 or 80 reviews there are hundreds of GOTY awards. Also skyward sword didn't review as well as Skyrim. Galaxy only had 2 less awards than BioShock. Also goty winners tend favour heavily story based,  graphics intensive games which does leave Nintendo at a disadvantage. Also who gives a fuck about goty awards do you even know who's giving out all these awards.

Yep. Uncharted 4, sitting at 93 MC, was my least favorite in the series, and my biggest letdown of all the PS4 exclusives I've played thus far. I REALLY didn't like the gunplay/combat, and there's lots of it in the game. I would have been one of the reviewers that got doxxed after giving it a 7, were that my profession. In a bit of irony, before I had played it myself, my final strike at N4G was when I referred to a reviewer who gave it a 7 as a hooker. I was trying to get banned, so please forgive the lowbrow pot-shot.

Not discounting the idea that MC or awards have meaning.
