Germany : 7,2 million
UK : 6,8 million
France : 6 million
Spain : 3.1 million

For comparison with PS3 numbers lifetime sales :

Japan : 10.47 million
UK : 5.92 million
France : 5.18 million
Germany : 4.54 million
Spain : 3 million

I was going to try comparing to this site but I don't know how to find LTD numbers by country on here anymore.

Using the Yearly Chart and the Hardware Comparison tools I ended up with this for the US:

End of 2018: 28.248.598

Jan-Aug 2019: 1.733.071

Total: 29.981.669 (as of 31st August 2019)

It seems that compared to PS2, PS4 has diminished in sales in US, Japan and probably UK but it will end selling way more everywhere else.....

PlayStation 2 :

Japan : 23.2 million according to Famitsu/Mediacreate.
Europe : 56 million as of January, 2013 according to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

If anyone has the others PS2 numbers, don't hesitate to share them here.

Big sales boost in Germany compared to the PS3. A bit surprised that Spain is almost flat (so far), was expecting a bit more there.

It seems PS4 will end selling something like this:

US 38-40M Less than PS2 (around 48M), less than X360 (around 44M), around the same as Wii (around 40M) and more than PS1 (around 35M)
Europe 53-55M Just behind PS2 (around 56M), but way ahead of PS1 (around 37M), PS3 (around 35M), Wii (around 34M) and X360 (around 26M)
JP 10-11M On par with PS3 (around 10'5M), less than Wii (around 13M) and way less than PS2 (around 23M) and PS1 (around 19M)
ROTW 23-25M On par with PS2 (around 25M) and way more than everyone else, PS3 (around 12'5M), Wii (around 9'5M),PS1 and X360 (both around 9M)

TOTAL 124-131M

Not bad for a console that has spent 6 years or more at 300$ or more. Software is going to be close to PS2 at 1500M too, but with way more profits this gen thanks to DLC's and MTX.

Sony really hit the jackpot with the PS4....

not to mention, that this gen was probably the most valuable gen to win

going forwards ppl will have pretty giant digital libraries that they will expect to migrate to the next consoles, like they do on their smartphones, so the percentage of ppl going into a different eco system should drop quite a bit
