Hmm okay. So no price cut for PS4 before Black Friday then.

A sub-2k lead in August is what decides that?

Yes and the fact that PS4 is still selling very well even when it's behind Switch.

That part makes sense and I agree with. I just dont think Sony was waiting to find out Aug 10 numbers before deciding whether to cut the price or not lol.

Nope, it's a very old home console still selling like a newer Handheld from Nintendo, and PS5 close to be announced.

The 2K lead alone means nothing, we all know.

Next year's summer will be pretty tough for Microsoft. Wii U sold about 36k units in August 2015. XBox One sells now about the same. The year later, Wii U sold about 16k units in August 2016 (the summer before Switch launch). Can we expect that XBox One will sell less than 20k units in August 2020?

Not sure if this is due to something on PS side or the Lite announcement (more people holding out for that), but either way congrats Sony for at least one more time on top until ps5!

Definitely the Switch Lite/Upgraded Battery Switch models holding Switch sales back. In fact, for a console with 2 new versions incoming, one of them replacing the current model and the other being $100 cheaper, Switch is still selling extremely well.

And congrats for reaching 4000 posts!

Only 10% down YoY this week on PS4, and it's not had a pricecut or even big games this year. Excellent performance and legs. 130m here we come!

Interesting, no mention of "ties" in the first 2 pages of last weeks thread. At least wait 5+ pages before trying to create petty ammunition.
