Uh. Sounds like you want them to change the art style. From a technical standpoint Witcher 3 is leagues ahead of BOTW.

Not even a contest. I own Witcher 3 on Ps4 Pro and while i dont particularly like the game ( too clunky/no climbing mechanics) its blows BoTW away on a technical level (obviously). Actually playing the game though BoTW > Witcher 3

Botw does run on higher resolution though.

Yeah, because it was made for the Wii U, unlike Witcher 3 which was made for the PS4. BotW has far less technically demanding graphics, as a result it can have a better resolution.

Why is so hard to understand that there are people that don't have much time to sit down and play at home? I'm outside most of the day and I spent like two hours on public transport. For me (and many people) the best and only way to play a game like this is on the Switch.

All this "Do yourself a favor and play it somewhere else"... stop saying people what to do. Every person has their needs. Some want to play on a home console because they are unable or unwilling to get into the more powerful PC gaming. Some want to play on PC because they want to have the best possible visual experience. And some others play on portable consoles because they spent most of the time of their day outside. End of story.

I think a lot of the people who are saying those things probably don't own a Switch. When playing on your couch or PC at home is the only thing you know, it's hard to imagine the convenience that something like the Switch provides. There's also many people who are partial to the console of their choice, and when a game like the Witcher 3 makes it way onto a Nintendo console, it almost feels like something was taken away from them, and instead of wishing well to those that are getting a first chance to play the game, they try to reinforce how the way that they played the game is the best way to play, and (more importantly) that people who are playing the game on Nintendo's platform are lesser individuals getting a lesser experience for doing so.

The sad truth.

Actually it's very simple - if you don't care for any type of handheld experience, whether on the go or at home (I have WiiU, never play on Gamepad, it strains my eyes), then docked Switch TW3 experience is visually quite inferior to other versions...hence, "do yourself a favour and play it somewhere else, if you have the option". If you don't have the option, then it is what it is, you'll enjoy or not the game on its own merits, whether you mind blurry visuals or not.

Example - for me, RDR on PS3 was eyesore, still I've played it there since that was my only option, cause there's no PC version. If there was, I would never consider it on PS3, cause I always have fairly powerful PC.

I don't have a PS4, an Xbox One, or a powerful gaming PC if that's what you mean. I own gaming 12 systems, including multiple from each of the "big 3", but Switch is my only current gen one.

Well, as I said above, I don't own a PS4 or an Xbox One, and I suspect Witcher 3 on my laptop would run worse than on Switch, so this version is just the most convenient for me.

I'm well aware it won't look anywhere near as good as playing the other console versions or on a gaming PC, but I'm a retro gamer who plays older systems regularly so I don't mind sub-HD resolutions or compressed textures.

For all the graphical cutbacks I still really enjoyed games like Doom 2016 and Hellblade on Switch, so as long as the gameplay's as good as it's cracked up to be I see no reason why I wouldn't have a whale of a time with this too.

Well, then it makes sense, I thought you have another platform you could play it on.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it, it's narrative focused action-RPG (though just barely regarding RPG part), try to go into it without comparing it to any other game (especially if you're unfamiliar with Euro-RPGs), which I often see around here, whether it's ridiculous comparisons with Bloodborne's combat system (TW3 actually has quite good combat, if you don't neglect magical signs) or lauded freedoms of BotW.

You're like the second person on here I've seen say that and I agree. I enjoyed using signs and having to apply oils and potions to my swords

Got it on PS4 (when I had a PS4), barely played it 'cause never had the time to play it since it is a huge game.

But now, I will play it on the Switch, which always enhance my gaming experience

Once i received this game for the Switch, i will have my nickname... The potato gamer.

Honestly, i'm happy!

This was one of the biggest titles that had me envious of PS4/XBO owners. I was so excited to hear it was coming to Switch, but man, I didn't expect it to look this good. This is easily the most impressive game on the system graphically. Looks gorgeous.

I don't know how you got through 2013-2016 without buying another console.

Truth be told, I did struggle a bit during that time.

I had a Wii U and while it did have some games I loved, the droughts were horrible. I ended up caving and getting a 3DS to play Monster Hunter 4, my first and only handheld, but I really regretted doing so as it turns out the small screen experience just isn't for me.

My Xbox 360 was an absolute lifesaver during this time as not only did it still get crossgen releases through 2013-2015 like Rise of the Tomb Raider, Advanced Warfare, Battlefield Hardline, Wolfenstein New Order, etc, but there were also a fair few good games on it that I missed during Gen 7 for various reasons like Spec Ops The Line and Witcher 2.

And yeah, as has been pointed out, I am a retro gamer so I also played my older systems a lot haha.

Of course and it looks great, but Witcher 3 is huge, with alot of detail crammed in, obviously they had to remove alot of detail and textures just to get it all on to a 32gb card, absolutely stellar job they have done. Its like saying if you own a top end pc and a ps4 get pc edition cos looks alot better. If you own ps4 and switch get ps4 version unless you want portability.

It's funny how the narrative changed when Witcher 3 on switch was just a rumour. Before "Yeah, right! only if they're planning to run at ps1 levels" Now to "X platform runs better than switch". Well, no shit, Sherlock.
You don't like it how it looks on switch bc on your favorite is better? Well, guess what. There is always gonna be someone that will have a super powerful pc that runs this game way better than yours.
I have this game on my PC and runs at the high settings, yet I can still see how fine the game looks on switch without acting like " ah sorry, my eyes are too refined to play on this". Pls don't be that person.
