Forums - Gaming Discussion - Take a video game company you think is failing and steer them in the right direction.

Do you have a videogame company that you used to be a fan of, but don't like anymore? Guess what? In this thread you are now president of that company. Steer them back to the greatness that once was!

I'll go first...

1. Reboot Fable. Make a new game just called Fable Legends, which starts the series over gain. Remaster Fable I and II for PC/XB1.

2. Get Rare to make Banjo 3.

3. Just release your Microsoft studio games on Steam. Nobody cares about the windows store.

4. Make Killer Instinct into a fighting game, that you can actually buy complete on day 1. No more of these greedy DLC packs.

5. Heavily court Japanese publishers/developers so that games like Nioh, Neir Automata, Ni No Kuni 2, etc. don't get delayed or not released on XB1.

6. Release your games in a finished state.

7. Give XB1 some mouse/keyboard functionality, and allow RTS/4X games to be published to XB1.

8. Contact From Software and bring back Chromehounds.

Square Enix. Split into Squaresoft and Enix/Eidos

Remake FF VII, VIII and IX with only improved graphics, can use the standard of FF X
Remaster Legacy of Kain series (all 5 games)

Done.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

I'd get Game Freak to make a Pokémon game with every single Pokémon in it.

Konami, Rare, Microsoft - Sell all their franchises to Sony.
Atlus, Rare (As option 2)- Sell all their franchises to Nintendo.

Blizzard - Separate from Activisión, make brand new franchise not centered on battle royale/multiplayer.

Square Enix - Nothing. You are doing great baby, no need to go back to those turn-based FF. Thats done.

Edited.

Game Freak - Hire more staff, actually add all the Pokemon to the dex, co-develop mainline Pokemon with Nintendo EPD from now on, with Nintendo taking on the bulk of development while Game Freak takes on a more laid-back, advisor role.

Atlus, bring back the quality Shin Megami Tensei used to have. Last good SMT was Strange Journey. Bring Kaneko on character design and direction, let Meguro be the head composer again, get again that spark of the first 3 numerical entries and revive the spin-off titles that also had a lot of care put into them, Digital Devil Saga and Devil Summoner.

Square Enix. If you don't want to use the old battle system on FFVII Remake, then give it the FFX battle system with the sphere grid, and call it a day.

In the Bleeding Edge thread you were going on about how Microsoft was the one forced a multiplayer game on Ninja Theory.

So if your were incharge of Microsoft, you would force Rare to make Banjo 3? Though I guess al that goes out the window when it's about a game you like.

Also #7 is already a thing. They added it in last year.

#3 is already beginning to take place, slowly but surely. You first had the MCC announcement, now Gears 5 is also on Steam, day one. It's only a matter of time.

#1 Has been rumored for the longest time, it's all but confirmed.

I also agree with #6. Sea of Thieves was launched with next to content. State of Decay 2 was very, very buggy at launch. Recore was unfinished, and felt like they finished it for the Definitive edition, which was a year after launch. #4 I agree with too.

Overall good list, tho MS is already doing a couple of these things right now.

edit: best way to do Banjo is outsource it to a talented external studio that really wants to make the game.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

1. Kill the anime, and its derivative movies.
2. Kill the TCG.
3. Don't kill the live action films.
4. Kill the games.
5. Reboot everything.

Take out all of the billions of TCG sales, merchandise sales, box office and DVD sales, home entertainment sales, etc.? Damn that’s pretty daring.

Oh good. MS is taking a lot of steps that I wasn't aware of.

As far as Banjo 3 goes, I said I would get them to make it, not force them. Getting someone to do something for you isn't the same as forcing them to do something for you. If I got my friend to give me a ride, it means I asked and he obliged. It doesn't mean I held a gun to his head.
