Forums - Gaming Discussion - A Plague Tale: Innocence - One Of Gaming's Finest Hours

This game looks truly spectacular. Really looks like one of the Sony first-party offerings, especially Last of Us and God of War (2018) in terms of exploration and the way the narrative is told through the two main characters.

I wish there were more AA games like this and Hellblade compared to the infinite amount of pixelated side-scroller games.

Personally though, I can't wait to play this game very soon in glorious stereoscopic 3D once a full fix is published on PC...

How I wish for the AA side of the industry to come back in full force, so we can get games like this and Hellblade.

I'm actually starting to see these two AA games as being better looking visually than most "AAA" games like RAGE 2, BF1 etc.

Well, Focus has been on the rise lately, so we may start seeing more of them.

I just found out about this game yesterday, here, on VGC, from a CGI post, in a thread that I can't remember. Then Jim Sterling referenced it in his Rage 2 Jimpressions. Color me interested.

I keep hearing good things about this, guess i am going to pick it up at some point

The game looks great but the animations are very...stiff, very reminiscent of Life is strange, specially the facial animations. Very unfortunate. (only talking about the animation)

Look stuff like this is an excuse to get me a new pc

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I'm happy you did that thread i assume i would have tried to make my first one if you didn't . Not that i've bought the game, the backlog is huge, but since it's great and well reviewed and i always read here complaints about games qualities, stories, etc....

It would have been a shame on a videogame website ! I will buy it before the end of the year for sure, especially for small studios which need some support.

Yeah, waiting for a sale. Just terrible marketing I guess.

Nope. Based on word of mouth and reviews, many people got exactly what they thought they would. I think you just wanted something else. It never really promised to be God of War/The Last Of Us (funnily enough, it does things neither of those do), but offers a story that will stand the test of time (much like those will).

I mean, I'm gonna be frank here. I don't think every game has to literally follow in the vein of TLOU or GoW. The idea of having to help your brother, an NPC, to safety, while also dealing with other obstacles and having a wee bit of combat in there is something nice to have, rather than it being yet another third person game that tries to be like the previous two mentioned games.

I'm also thinking of grabbing this game, since Rage 2 looks so lackluster in both visuals, gameplay and general storytelling. Also has a really bad blurry look to it, while Plague Tale looks sharp and decent texture wise.

Eh, it's simplistic, but works well and is entertaining.

Sure,  i can accept that.  Though it's not something i feel confident buying atm

It will makes me not popular, but this is just one of those games most people didn't know about so when they do it feels like a hidden gem and that's why it gets some praise. If this had one year ago a full blown out media coverage and had the gamers hyped we would now have a thread full with people who are dissapointed with the game.  It is an amazing looking immersive game that sadly can get repetive fast and that's sad because it is rather a short 10 hourish game.  If this dev team had a higher budget we would have ended up with one of the great(est) games of the year.
