Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Capcom just released a game on Nintendo Switch on a 16 GB Game Cart for $30 MSRP

Wow crazy considering Capcom's record lately with Switch releases. I'm surprised it didn't just come with a download code.

Yeah the "cArtS r 2 exPenSivE" argument is bullshit.

If a 16GB card is profitable at $30, there is no excuse for the publishers of $60 games being anti-consumer cheapskates and forcing customers to download most of a game so they can sell it on a 8GB or smaller card.

I'm still pissed about how they're handling the upcoming resident evil ports

What did they do with those?

way too expensive. $30 each, $60 for the physical release of REmake 1 and origins and even then they still couldn't put them both on 1 cartridge.

We don’t know the economics of this. It’s possible that they are ordering them in larger bulks now, which would reduce the cost. It’s also very possible that the 16 gig cards are simply cheaper to produce now, which would make sense given we’re two years into the Switch’s lifespan and flash memory cost has gone down considerably.

Another possibility is that Capcom simply has more faith in the Switch now, and are willing to take less profit per game in order to reach a larger market.

The funny thing is I sold my switch to get a ps4 at the end of last year and this game is one of the psplus games this month. Great timing? Or a is Sony not playing nice 😂😂

But here's the thing--I'm a huge Dragons Dogma fan (This is my fourth time buying the game!). They've even given it away for free on PS+. There's just no way it's going to sell well. Even I know this. Capcom put it on a 16gb card and didn't charge much for it. That says a lot.

On a different note, what the fuck is up with the servers for this game!? I can't ever get my character online! She needs to make me some money before I win the game.

Thq Nordic also just released darksiders on switch for $30 on a 16gb cart ($10 switch tax still). But the 16gb cart at $30 is affordable for devs. It's just a shame capcom did the whole, "no more switch ports if this doesn't sell" statement with DD.

I don't think they said that. They did say that if this game sells well, they might port DMC5.

I already have my copy. I played a bit of it on PS3, but I had not even scratched the surface before moving on. I got it late into the PS3's life and when the PS4 came out, I pretty much jumped ship.

Looking forward to giving this a proper playthrough as I was really enjoying it before prematurely moving on.
