Forums - Gaming Discussion - MK11 Switch vs PS4slim

Just watched a compairsion video, and the differnce in resolution/geometri/textures/shadows/effects seems massive.

This one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXXZMEw6qA8

Do you guys think they should have lowered FPS to 30 instead? So they wouldnt have to cut resolution so much?

In the cutscene in the beginning, the difference seems massive.

However, in the fight after that, I was hard-pressed to notice any real differences, even while having it side-by side.

So no, they made a good choice. That Scorpion model in the beginning has mostly just better, higher resolution textures due to having more memory, something that can't be balanced by lowering the framerate. And as you could see in the fight, the details are not noticeable in the actual kombat.

Quite the big difference but in an intense fighting game (or anything competitive) I think it'd be hard to sacrifice FPS for resolution.

I wouldn't recommend the Switch version unless you want to play the game on the go/at a friend's place/Switch is your only console.

When did Mario Kart 11 come out? Why did they skip Mario Kart 9 and 10? Why is it also on the PS4? WHAT IS GOING ON?!

^-^

I can see how title could be confuseing.

Well the Switch version (again, not a port, the game was developped simoultaniously for the Switch) holds up pretty well and during the fight the game itself is amazing. So no, the choice made here is the best choice.

I'm sure the differences are huge. The same thing applied to MKX for Vita. It was still a capable version of the home game on the go and that's all I really needed.

*watches video*
Not nearly as bad as I was expecting. In fact, I'm impressed!

haha I was just having some fun :)

Seems most people dont think its a big issue.... and I get the point where once in action it probably doesnt matter as much.
I think it seems very obvious though, like your giveing up alot of image quality if your getting the switch version to me.
