Forums - Sales Discussion - PS5>XB4>NS units sold next gen

Why you ask?

Its quite simple really as seen in the interview the PS5 is build to be futureproof and has a solid predecessor in the PS4.

The XB4 in the other corner, is rumored to be weaker and doesnt have the same library and most games will be playable on pc anyway. Besides how strong will the brand be after the flipflop known as the XBO.

And then we have the NS a great console but so far behind the curve most tvs wont cater to its resolution in a few years. Doubtfull if even the NSpro will handle stable 1440p/60fps. And ofcourse half its sales have been made in the current gen.

Thus my expectation for next gen which will result saleswise in the order Ps5>xb4>nsw

PS4/NS > XB4

If Sony does everything right and if the PS5 has a long enough lifetime, it should be able to outsell the NS, but it's not certain that that will happen. XB4 won't do significantly better than XOne, unless it has a clear advantage over the PS5.

Also, the majority of the broad public doesn't care much for resolution, so that should be too much of an issue for the NS.

xbox is never going to sell well in Europe or Japan, and that will keep it in third place. And how many Switches will have been sold by the time the two consoles are released, 50 million? If PS5 passes Switch it will be a while

Fair enough. I think the potential exists for exactly the opposite.

But, it really doesn't matter.

Switch will sell better than xbox.

XB > NSW? Really? It would have to be the best selling Xbox console of all time, and make up for the fact it has no market in Japan on top of that, which in Nintendo's case is 20+ million.

I am confused, people say the Switch belongs in the PS360 era now the Switch has skipped a generation and is being compared to PS5/XBOX0

I don't think anyone is saying that. PS4/XB1 era on the other hand.

Well by the logic of a lot of people, Switch's isn't next gen so we can only compare PS5 and Xbox 2 until Switch 2 is released. That's how I see it anyway.

Where are you getting the rumor that Xbox will be weaker from. Leaks point to 2 different next-gen Xbox, codenamed Lockhart and Anaconda. Lockhart is said to be weaker than PS5 (but also cheaper), while Anaconda is said to be more powerful than PS5 (though possibly more expensive).

This is also a rumor and unknown. Anaconda is rumored to be comparable (maybe a little stronger than, maybe a little weaker than) the PS5. Most of the rumors I've seen are just claims that it wants to be stronger than the PS5, but alternatively the rumors and confirmed info the PS5 both seem to have it above what we hear about the Anaconda. Unfortunately no one will know until at least E3 when they are both revealed.
