If you've never played The Ace Attorney Trilogy, you're in for a treat.
A good amount of reviews are disappointed because it adds little, but that won't be an issue for you.

I'm surprised that you, a grown man that's into mature games, would give a chance to any of these two franchises. But... whathever.

Ace Attorney all the way. Danganronpa has one of the worst character and story writting I've seen in a videogame. Most conversations were embarrasing even for me...

I loved Danganronpa, never played PW, so my vote is obviously for Danganronpa.

AA:PW
If you like it there are literally 3 more entries to play afterwards for one.

Dagenropa itself... You have to have a very specific taste.

I'm into episode 3 on the first AA game, it's pretty damn good. A bit simplistic but still, it's amazingly gamified and arcadey which I wasn't expecting.

And people have to have been trolling the poll in UK there. Still 50/50. Lol.

You should keep us posted in what you think of the cases.

Definitely Danganronpa. Love the music too!

Never played PW.
But after that, you have to try Danganronpa. If the crazy style of the game suits you, it can easily become one of your favorite series ever. It's one of mine.

Did you play Zero Escape or Steins;Gate?

I chose Danganronpa. Have all of them on PS4 and Vita......but have never played them. Enjoy Phoenix though. Have both never played OR bought any games in that series but have been interested since it first came onto the scene on the DS. This evening, I successfully chose between Drangon's Dogma: Dark Arisen remaster and Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online as my next game. Went with Nep Nep. Installed it. Then promptly went into EDF 5 online lobbies and helped a new friend get his platinum.

There is something good to be found in Dragons Dogma DA, kept me playing 10 hours or more but it hasn't ages well and I don't think it was ever very solid around the edges to begin with. Probably better off with any moderately reviewed game than that.

Oh, I already love DD:DA. Played it on the PS3 and spent somewhere around 120-140 hours. 2 playthroughs and the plat. Was such a fan I bought the guide book, just for the extra bits of lore, the bestiary, and artwork. Playing it with a more stable frame rate, with better lighting, and a higher resolution will be choice!

I can imagine it would have held up better in 2012, it's a game that would have blown my mind before this generation and games like Tw3 and DA Inquisition. The gripes I have with it now are largely due to polish, outdated systems and annoying QoL issues along with the poor VA and unexplained level scaling. Would you say it gets any better after the first few quests in the big city or have I seen enough to get the basic idea?

I played it in 2013, so my memory as to how much better it gets after the initial quests in Gran Soren is a bit dim. It will be interesting to see if I have any gripes about polish in the remaster, as I was quite happy with it back in 13'. I have a feeling I'll be fine with the remaster in this regard, but who knows? Really, after almost 6 years, it's difficult to comment on the level scaling. I can't remember how it was implemented. I had no issues with the VA. What do you mean by both QOL and outdated systems specifically? If you don't want to go into detail, that's fine tho. I'll be playing it again soon enough. :) I can still say I loved the combat, especially the battles against larger enemies. The pawn system in general. The game world. Last gen was teeming with games I loved, and DD:DA was probably top 50....Top 40? Maybe higher. This just boils down to taste I suppose.
