With Nintendo making such crossovers, not just with their own IPs, but also 3rd party IP, where are Captain N: The Game Master Revival TV series and Spin-off games (same strategy as with Pokemon or Yokai Watch)? I mean, they certainly have the cash to buy the IP for the Series from DIC, who can't use it anyway.

I would like that. Must not be anime per se, but a more unrealistic/comic artstyle would be fine. For shooters they did it with Borderlands, and this turned out to be good.

If you don't know what I mean here's a really short re-cap:
Before stalkera actually released we got promises of a game with a game world that was "alive". This meaning that all NPC (enemies and friendlies alike) had the stuff to do and they would do them if not interupted by you, the player.

This in it self might not sound special in any way. The kicker is that stalker was supposed to be an open world game, this means that if you mucked around for to long without interupting NPCs (some more key than others) they would go about and finish their given objectives meaning you would lose the game while you where out just minding your own buissiness exploring some sewer or what ever.

This set up also meant that you potentially could "beat" parts of the game but not the "entire" game because the NPC might finnish some of their objectives, but not all, before being interupted by you.

Further this also promised some replayability since there would be multiple points within the game where you potentially could interupt the NPCs objectives meaning you could have your "boss" fight with some key NPCs fairly early on. Or you could have that fight right by some critical objetive point in the game.

The NPCs would also scavange the game for better gear and stuff meaning they would become more powerful the longer they would be allowed to roam the game world.

Because that's, IMO, by far the hardest game to make...I sort of know about this somewhat, I was involved almost 20 years ago with a team prototyping something like that, and it failed miserably...i never dabled with game design since then and went on to another field.

I was hoping that Ken Levin will come up with something when he talked few years ago about some "narrative LEGO" project of his, but nothing so far has come out.

Honestly, I'm inclined to think that we'll see games that are both simulations and being able to keep it fun for player only once we start gettting trained AIs shipped within games...something like D&D game with AI GM pops to mind...

I'm thinking more like Turok 2008, but better. And we're just now achieving the compute power for a very nice looking jungle open-world, I think. Forests are very demanding and always looked sort of fake in games. But a lush, dark one would make for a nice survival game in the next decade.

I was going to mention Borderlands in my post but I forgot. We basically have the same idea.
