Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Smash Update 3.0; Joker being added to Smash tomorrow morning (April 17th US/EU, 18th JP/AUS)!

The stages and his design looked really cool! The stage builder did improved a lot! Hopefully you can share online soon. And Smash world looks really nice. Its like Miiverse but dedicated for Smash.

And Nintendo just made its own movie maker.......

Pocky Lover Boy!

I'm just really hoping Erdrick gets announced soon. Dragon Quest deserves representation and the music would make an incredible addition.

Based on Cloud, I can't wait for Erdrick, a stage and two non-remixed songs.

cool amount of extra free content for those who aren't shelling out for the dlc pass thing. Still as someone who bought that months back I'm kinda sad to hear that the mii fighter costumes aren't a part of it, tempting me with that 75c Miles Prower costume owo

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Yessss the stage builder looks like a lot of fun! My boy Tails is back!

I'm with you. If this isn't coupled with at least a P5 port (we'll know by the 25th if it does), it'll really rub me the wrong way, just like Snake's inclusion does.

I'm going to be super disappointed if the rest of the DLC characters are just random choices from other systems that don't have any roots in Nintendo history. Steve and Master Chief are my nightmare.

Well even if we get Persona games I wouldn't like it. Mostly cause I can think of at least 10 RPGs that deserve representation before Persona, not even counting other legendary franchises from other genres.

As it likely went down, Nintendo included Joker among the characters Sakurai could choose among the 5 DLC fighters and Sakurai chose him partly because he’s a fan of Persona 5.

I don't think we're getting any other Nintendo history characters because they would've already been added it seems. Seems like Sakurai wants to have fun with the dlc. With MK coming to the Switch, I'm really expecting a MK character.

Sakurai isn't the one deciding the DLC Nintendo themselves have chosen the characters internally.

Fuck. I don't have time to play Smash tomorrow...probably won't all week...

And yeah, they'd better fucking port Persona 5 to Switch.

Social interaction seems amazing.
Lots from Mario maker, download stages, follow creators, copy miis, videos, and finally the mobile app seems useful.
I begged only for stage builder, they gave me a much better and much more.
I'm so hyped. Ty

But Minecraft was on Wii U, 3DS, and Switch? Pacman doesn't have roots in Nintendo history, but he deserves to be in because he's super iconic. Steve is also super iconic. He's the Mario of Gen Z, like it or not, and the most iconic indie game character. It's better than a Fortnite character. Minecraft has proven staying power in video game culture, whereas Fortnite is already fading. Not saying Steve is my first choice, but he makes sense as an inclusion in Smash when he's easily the most iconic video game character to grace a Nintendo system that isn't in Smash yet. Also, that one guy that predicted Daisy, Ridley, Isabelle, Simon, and Incineroar also said that a Minecraft stage would be in as DLC, so that probably means Steve will too. Get used to the idea now. Nintendo is trying to expand their audience with these picks. That's why they're 3rd party characters, because there's just so many 3rd party characters that are more iconic than anything Nintendo has left at the bottom of their IP barrel. I want the Genos and Isaacs of Nintendo's history too, but it's just not happening.

As for Master Chief, I could see it, but only if the partnership between Nintendo and Microsoft takes off as much as the wildest rumors are suggesting. I'm talking the rumors that we aren't just getting Xbox Live and Gamepass on Switch, but that we're getting Master Chief collection and Halo 5 on Switch's version of Gamepass. An announcement like that at E3 I could totally see, with maybe even multiple Microsoft characters announced, with Banjo joining Steve and Master Chief. Banjo is really the only one of those I actively want, but you have to admit that kind of partnership would be exciting, and if we got that kind of partnership as the rumors are suggesting, getting Microsoft Smash characters isn't the least bit farfetched.
