I have to admit, I hadn't Gravel on the radar. But seeing this he seems to be a pretty legit progressive candidate. I can get behind that.

Is this like a SNL short?

I was looking for the presidential debate from 2008 (with Clinton, Obama and Biden) which was featured in the video. Here it is:

Such an awfull campaign ad,looked like he was being puppeted and just had to say hello to the camera while the most recent political footage in it is from 10 years ago?

He has stated multiple times his only reason for entering the race is to push candidates left on various issue, most notably imperialism and war. The reason most of his footage is so old is he is highlighting his debate from 2008 where he did just that by continuing to attack the 2008 Democratic candidates by continuously bringing up US intervention and how it is detrimental. 

I'm not here to say I support Gravel or his motive for entering the race, yet the reason for the strangeness of the ad, is that his main focus is attracting enough attention to land himself on the debate stage. 

Gravel's positions are pretty similar to Bernies. It's funny how the 2 eldest are also the most progressive, while in general the older ones are normally more conservative.
