I saw the first half but stopped when he was talking about George Washington cause I had a cookout to go to. The speech had some historical inaccuracies but it was alright.

That damn teleprompter malfunction lead to airfields in the revolutionary war.

Who do you blame for something like that.  I can see Trump making the mistake but does anyone ever proof read his material.  Probably not since a stable genius doesn't need anyone going over their work.

Ocasio Cortez was a bad move. The remarks the speaker made had nothing to do with the races of the people she was referring to.

Mnuchin warns the US government is running out of money. I wonder if anyone saw this coming??

A reminder of the abusive culture in this administration, Acosta and Epstein just being the latest example:

Worse, it's loosing money a lot faster than predicted. By the predictions about the tax cut, the US were scheduled to get 1 Trillion+ additional debt starting 2022. After 3 quarters the new debt of this FY of the US stands by 746 Billions. In other words, there's a chance that it will happen this year already, and next year is pretty much set for it already.

Also, it's not running out of money, the debt ceiling is already reached. It's more like they are running out of money to shift around to keep everything running. Wonder how long this standoff to raise the debt ceiling will last this time around.

Probably not. Giving tax cuts to the rich and relying on their generosity to trickle down the wealth is a foolproof method for the well-being of everyone, so seeing that it may not work is quite shocking.

That's the modus operandi of the republicans for decades now, probably since Reagan.

Out of power, they cry that the state is loosing money, and point with their fingers at the democrats in charge at the time.

In power? Tax cuts (pretty much one per term) and ballooning military budget make the deficits swell like never before. And continue blaming the democrats and their social programs for it.

Pence is a brainless, heartless white supremacist. Here he is visiting the migrants he and Trump have had snatched up and locked in overcrowded prison camps, with no regard for their well-being, and with no basic human needs being met for the prisoners.

This is the worst America has been since the 50s.

"snached up and locked up". Do you realize that people crossing the border a lot of them are hoping to or going to these centers so they can seek asylum. None is actively kidnapping these people.

So deprivation of human rights/needs is a totally cool thing to do to asylum seekers? Yes, these people are going to the government to seek asylum but that does not mean they are looking to be locked up and abused. There are other ways to handle this which don't involve human rights violations...

None is saying it's a cool thing to do. Yeah there are other ways to handle it that have been implemented over the last few months. The detention centers werent made to hold this large amount of people crossing the border so resources and space is scarce.

^THIS!! Trump knows that too, but he doesn't care. He just wants to crush them with his rich white supremacist rapist agenda.

Generally I feel that Trump is a PR president. He doesn't do what he does because be believes it to be right or because it rationally follows a certain worldview, he does things because of how he can sell them. He goes after Immigrants because he knows that he can use it to play into fear and provide his base with a tangible enemy that he will vanquish. This is why he sometimes breaks with some traditional republican perspectives like free trade. It is because he can use things like the trade war with China as a PR move to demonstrate power and create an enemy for everyone to fear that only he can defeat.

That said, at some point, his PR positions have soured in regards to Immigration in particular and showed a lot of the nastiness beneath the PR. It shows a certain pettiness and narcissism in not being able to admit when he is wrong, a disregard for the well being and lives of other human beings, and in all likelihood, it demonstrates that he drank his own xenophobic Kool-Aid and can no longer tell when he himself is telling lies about immigrants.

That is to say, I don't think it is as simple as Trump not liking immigrants. I think it is Trump feeling that he needs to not like immigrants in order to validate himself and his base, which is just all sorts of icky to me. A racist/xenophobic asshole out of ignorance is one thing, but this is almost something entirely more unpleasant in my opinion.

Trump is doing nothing, I repeat NOTHING, to make the situation better. Instead he's sending out his ICE thugs to go on raids so he can cram more migrants into his concentration camps.

He could definitely do a better job but he has taken steps to try to amend the issues. The stay in mexico policy prevents even more overcrowding in detention centers. Also after the tariff threat Mexico has increased their border security in their southern and northern border and border crossings have decreased. Also there's the $4.6 billion aid bill which should give more resources to detention centers. A lot more than be done but saying nothing has been done is just wrong.
