Note: Couldn't figure out spoiler tags; I thought there was a way to do the inline spoilers with the black hover text. Anyways, if you have made it to the second "important place" the spoilers won't be spoilers.

Haven't posted in here since the launch night (IIRC). I'm enjoying the hell out of Sekiro. It fits in the Souls family of games very nicely. It would have been nice if there was some form of multiplayer, but perhaps they tried and it just didn't seem to work well in this one.

Either way, this game is really fun. For a little while I was having a hard time keeping track of all the areas available for me to explore. I've managed to lower that count, but it's still a concern (I don't want to miss anything). I've beaten three major bosses so far, and I'm starting to feel pretty powerful as I don't think I've missed any upgrades along the path to this point. Don't get me wrong; I've died a ton:

Spoiler!
Lady Butterfly: Over an hour (maybe even 90 minutes) of attempts without any upgrades, came really close a couple times, but had to stop playing for one reason or another. I really hate having to step away from a game while in the middle of doing boss attempts, so this left me quite anxious. The next time I came back to the game I went another route. I must have gotten really good at the fight after getting my ass handed to me so many times, as after getting my first damage upgrade, I managed to beat her on my first re-attempt with ease. I really wanted to beat this boss without upgrades (I guess for the bragging rights), but it just didn't happen. Anyways, really, really, really awesome boss.

Oniwa: This was the first boss I actually beat, and I beat him second try. I felt pretty good beating this guy quickly because the butterfly boss made me question my skill level. I have English voice turned on, so I don't know how it sounded for Japanese, but damn, when this guy approached he really pumped me up, screaming at me, "I AM LORD GYOUBU ONIWA!!!", or something like that. Gave me the goosebumps, no joke.

Kenichiro: This guy took about 45 minutes of attempts, and I was actually at the point where I needed to head out with my daughter to go run some errands, and I had declared to myself that if I didn't beat him on that attempt, I would pick it up again later. By the end of those 45 minutes I got very good at the fight, and this is how I think all bosses should be balanced. After you beat a boss, you should be good enough at the fight to beat him again and again, and that's how it felt with this one. First couple attempts I died real quick, but I made consistent progress until I felt that I mastered the fight.

But holy crap, these games are so much freaking fun to play, damn it! The stealth mechanic is a welcome change, although it makes for some cheese (can't tell if it was developer intended or not in some situations). Despite this game having a lower number of major boss fights than other Soulsborne games, it seems like they made up for that with a very large number of a mini-bosses.

And damn, anyone else (spoiler if you haven't made it to third boss)

Spoiler!
almost crap their pants when those enemies launched themselves at you from those kites?

Insanely good game so far but my patience is running out fighting that fucking bull from hell. I'm not looking for advice but nothing I do seems to work on that asshole! I can't even distinguish between his messed up attacks, let alone deal with them. So everything about it feels random at the moment. Ugh.. It makes me want to summon Kratos to QTE his arse into oblivion.

What helped me with the bull was when I realized that I could keep him locked on and still sprint around the arena. Some suggest to keep close to him, but I just ran away most of the time until I saw an opening. Best opening is when he puts a horn in the ground to turn, you can easily get behind him for a hit or two. You can also use the firecracker prosthetic arm tool to make the bull rear back if you shoot it off close enough to him. That gives you two or three hits before he calms himself down.

So far this is my method for cheesing mini bosses.  The fact that you can sprint indefinitely means you can keep a distance between you and some relatively slower moving mini bosses while staying locked on and looking for openings.  No idea how long this will be a viable strategy, but it's got a decent success rate so far.

I know you said you didn't want advice but that boss was actually super easy for me; beat him on my first attempt. I kept far away from him, circling the entire field and strafing/running to the left every time he dug his horn into the ground. Do that, lean in, attack a few times, run away. Keep that up and, while it takes a few minutes, it was pretty easy. Safe.

Other than that, yeah this game is amazing. Loving every second of it.

I never found this to be a problem with any dark souls game,if you learn how mobs are placed you can easely run through an area to the boss in a few minutes and items you find you do not lose .

is this a confirmation sekiro has the same system in place?

IT's even harsher than Dark Souls because in Dark souls you can return to the spot and get all your souls back. In this game you automatically lose half your money and experience upon dying (Well, half the progress to your next skill point; if you have 2 full skill points and half the bar to your third, you only lose half that bar).

But hey, these games aren't for everyone. If you're not a fan, that's fine, but I think it's important for you to know what you're getting into before buying so you're not some trash person who doesn't do their research, buys the game, hates it for being exactly what it was trying to be, then goes and trashes the game online thus painting it as bad to others who might have otherwise bought and enjoyed it.

Transparency is key, which is why Reviews are so important.
