Dragon Ball Super is back in the news, and it seems things should be going just fine for the series. According to a brand-new report, the franchise is looking to bring back its anime, and the Internet is having a field day over the big reveal.

After all, it sounds like this new anime has been in the works for some time now. Geekdom101 has reported work began on the revival as early as last fall, and Naohiro Shintani will oversee its character designs. This means the art style seen in Dragon Ball Super: Broly will likely be used in this television return.

UPDATE (11:50 a.m. EDT): Toei media representative David Syatt denied the rumors. He told Newsweek that there are no new episodes of Dragon Ball Super being produced at this time.

Dragon Ball Super returning - Yes!

Naohiro Shintani will oversee its character animations - YES!

If I had to guess, they'll most likely start like they did with Super's original run and adapt the Broly movie into anime format. Either that, or the Galactic Patrol arc from the manga.
I just hope that eventually they take that bold step and do a time skip AFTER the end of Z, because that's the biggest thing holding Super back at this point, is the fact that it all takes place before the end of Z.
GT be damned because, let's be honest, outside of Super Saiyan 4, GT kinda sucked. They could always make the excuse that GT is an alternate universe where Beerus never wakes up or they never meet.

I mean, it was beyond obvious that it would return, but Im happy by the news nevertheless.Super is worthy of the Dragon Ball name and is one of the best anime revivals ever!

I thought it was going to be Dragon Ball Heroes based on the game.

I couldn't disagree with you more about he manga being better. It had potential but got worse as it went along, Trunks wasn't even a major player in his own arc in the manga. It has even less of focus on the other characters and the last few chapters  so rushed it isn't funny. It had Master Roshi dodging attacks form Jiren. WTF.

Was hoping English dub would have time to catch up :(

Dragon Ball Super started as a piece of shit and ended up at a very high point. I have very high expectations after how they ended up with The Tournament of Power and the Broly movie. Also, if the rumors about what the new saga might be are true, my hype would be over 9000. Anyway, the franchise is in a great moment and I can not be happier. I love Dragon Ball with all my heart.

They would announce it less than 3 months before the premiere, brace yourself for terrible animation again.

I wonder if they are gonna start with the Broly arc or Morro. I'm super excited to see it back!!!
