Forums - Gaming Discussion - Now, I own a Switch...

...and it's because of Mario Maker 2. I can now say, I've owned all consoles and handhelds of the past two generations.

I don't consider myself an avid gamer but for some reason or other, I feel like I'm missing out on something if I don't own whats available to the market from the main 3. I know I'm not alone when I say that.

I'm about to be 35 years old and nothing feels off to me even though growing up, things were much different. But I feel like video games in general aged right along with me.

There's been times when I thought enough was enough but then something brings me back in. I'm starting to wonder if it's me trying to fill a void as a child growing up with hardly anything. Or just maybe I truly am addicted to video games.

I just don't know if I'll ever hang up my controller for good.

(And one more thing off topic but if you're into horror movies and haven't seen Hereditary, check it out. I feel like I have to share that. Easily my new favorite scary movie.)

And you feel the need of a thread? How about write a book, rather than look to appease your satisfaction from others on a website.

Isn't that a bit of a harsh response for someone just wanting to share some good news?  It's not like there are a thousand threads being made here these days anyway.

On topic....congrats.  I have had several generations where I thought I had outgrown one of my favorite hobbies, but then some game comes along that brings me back in.  I understand how Mario Maker 2 could do that for you.  Of course, there are probably a few games you need to play before that.  Get on it!

Perhaps, but I see it too often, kinda find it annoying. I'll let others make their own judgement and move on.

Yeah dude...these types of threads are pretty common around here. There was a similar one within the last 2 weeks. Bad sleep last night? :)

Thank you.  For reminding me why I stopped coming to places like this.

Congrats dude. The Switch is my favorite console of all time (but man, I really wish Nintendo would fix up the main menu and eShop and make them more organizable!).

Have fun!! My early days of the Switch and BOTW are some of my favorite gaming moments of all time. Ignore the negative ninnies, some people have to find things to complain about for some reason.

Welcome to the party, pal! Don't worry. I'm older than you and I still play games. My childhood was filled with video games and people to play with. It's normal. Enjoy!

You have made a great decision to buy Swtich, it's a truly remarkable device
