Nice duel on top: Who will be first at 3M? Splatoon or Smash?

The japanese market ain't what it used to be. I blame mobile "gaming".

I think the Switch is probably Japan's best chance at a recovery, but it isn't good enough yet..

If nintendo released a more pocket friendly version of the switch, I think we could see some crazy numbers again.

Splatoon

I actually think both can pass it at the same week

Impressive Switch YoY growth from start of year.

Pretty sure both games are already above 3m including digital. As for who was first probably splatoon. In retail it will be very close.  In the long run splatoon will be the bigger seller I think.

At this point Japan is all Switch as even KH couldn't move it with Fire Emblem, Gen 8 and AC on the way for this year and maybe a possible price cut I don't really see NS being hampered at all this year.

I didn't know you made one. It was at the same time. (mine is locked now)

At hand:

BOOM! Looks like the Switch will have a clean sweep in 2019 and win every week. GG Switch. Despite KH3 being out it still comes out on top.

Kh3 in collapse mode. 80%? 1m LTD? 1m still possible? Or is that dream shattered?

RE2 also went down harshly. GG.

Evergreen titles all did well on Switch.

Data:

JRPGs almost always decline 80% from their FW to 2nd.

Biggest surprises for me in the chart are POGO doubling WoW and the KH collection staying flat. Thought the latter would crash out of the list immediately.

All I know is that there was a Pokemon event going apparently. Perhaps that was a boosting factor.

Restock of Pokemon bundles did the lifting and in amazon it will be on sale this 9th. So numbers should be pretty decent next week

I think everyone in Japan has a PS4 already.
