Forums - Movies & TV - Alita Battle Angel by James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez (based on the manga

The manga was cruel sometimes. I mean, it told about true cyberpunk life, where people are not so good as you expect them to be. As I can see from the trailer, the film is going to be softer. I hope that won't kill the atmosphere of original Alita's story. And - of course, I am waiting for it. The only film I'm waiting for currently.

Some fans of the manga said even if it's not as great as the manga, it's a dope movie. And the public seems to love the movie, will it be another case of public who love the movie VS critics ?

I am really happy to see and hear that! Gonna visit the cinema after I have a salary.

The public reaction has been positive so far, even if they don't really know  the source material. Check IMDB.com for people ratings when it will be out.

Yup, there seems to be another disconnect between critic and audience reception so far judging by the early reviews. Chris Stuckmann, Jeremy Jahns and several other YouTubers said they liked it as well.

I'm not familiar with the source material, but I plan on seeing it. This'll be the last film under Fox as a standalone studio, so why not?

Yes, the movie is now "fresh" on RT. That is a good news but I'm more interested by the public reaction (IMDB etc...). I think the movie will be out tomorrow in UK.

I don't know the manga but the girl looks hilarious. Worst character CGI I've seen in years. Might still check it out when it's available on Netflix.

Your avatar is pretty cool, looks much better than the bug-eyed Disney-esque Alita in the trailers.

Already criticised by the BBC.
