Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft 2019 Super Bowl Ad: We All Win

Pemalite said:

It says allot allot about a Company/Business/Organization/Government with how they treat those who are most vulnerable.

I doubt Microsoft is making much profit from this scheme with the volumes they will end up shifting, So props to Microsoft... And I hope other companies take note and make similar innovations.

One of the most amazing videos I have ever witnessed was about a totally blind kid playing through Zelda Ocarina of time and he completed it relying on nothing but sound cues.

yes that's the one.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

That's a great ad, and (positively) surprising that that's their ad for the super bowl. Nice.

edit: anybody trying to spin this to a negative, shame on you.

Not going to work here.

"Using disabled people to improve their brand image".

What are you even talking about? The fact of the matter is, MS is spending so much on a super bowl ad for a product that will likely sell very little.  Your vendetta is getting a bit ridiculous here.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Well I think we can all agree its a very nice ad, its being well received and even those most critical of Xbox won't spin this as some sort of PR stunt looking for a niche market.

I mean only a person with a grudge would turn this heart warming video into that.

In response to part of your post pretty much what I was saying. However unlike you I'll not hold it against them the fact they didn't give this push years ago. To me that's just looking for a reason to be negative on them. MS are one of the industry leaders in helping disabled gamers in a market that likely isn't very profitable if at all so why the hell do they not get full credit with no strings attached?

We could take that thought process about any company in the world, pick something they didn't use 10 years ago and they hold it against them I strongly disagree.

Knowing you kero, you'd take any chance you can take

Really there wasn't much to add to the post, other than wanting to take a shot.

I strongly disagree with your logic either way at the end of the day. People can and have been proven to abusing PR gains, like it or not.

Jesus christ mate you just can't resist. My posts here have given high praise based on an academical approach to this advert and you still take a dig. There's just no winning with you.

I also like their holiday ad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v70Fu2WU8-w

I came to mock the "everybody win" because they are dead last. By the idea of the controller and the ad is great and the initiative from MS is fantastic, kudos.

 BANNED: Trolling ~ CGI

How is this ban worthy? hardly call it trolling

With a thread title like that I bet most of us did not expect to see that kind of commercial? If anything it was a nice surprise to see this new high tech controller that anyone can use.

Before I saw the video, I was thinking it be some sort of commercial about some new game that was more family oriented at home were you know we all can play together sitting in the living room (i.e. we all having fun there fore we all win).

Hell it could have been a new Madden ad with new game mechanics and a catchy new slogan.

You're the one that couldn't resist the chance to chastise.

You can stop playing games Kero, you know where that takes us.

Defending others from taking advantage of the disabled is absolutely disgusting. They've had years to be where everyone else has been in helping the disabled, where the hell were they 2-3, no 4 decades or more ago?. They've been around for decades, they've had the money for decades, to see this sort of thing and support it, yet they only do it now, now of all times when they've had a rather large uphill battle this gen, that they would take anything they could get. Why didn't they start this off at the start of the gen then?.

I've seen the disabled being taken advantage of through the years, and it's absolutely bloody disgusting and even more disgusting to see it defended.

Yeah it's nice they've made a game, like I pointed out in Pem's post, that others have also dabbled, thus not making it an MS only thing to do in the history of ever. Others have come before them and during their time within the market, so they've had ample time to take this on.

I will not be mired by shaming, when it isn't even shameful to begin with, it's even more shameful to defend the disabled being used as PR.

"rebuke or reprimand severely" yeah well I clearly didn't chastise anything.

Alright let's stop with the personal attacks and bringing up user histories. I think you've all shared your view on whether Microsoft is playing a PR game or whether they should be commended for their contributions to accessibility in gaming here. No one is changing anyone else's mind so let's all just take a step back. Going forward with labeling/attacking one another from here on out will result in moderation.

Thanks for this I'm sick of it. I'm actually saying it's great PR but also commending them. I know some are one side of the other but my view is a combination of both.

Yeah I think you just put that issue to bed. MS should be commended for this move whether it was PR or not. I hope Sony and Ninty follow suit.
