at 720p docked and 30fps with less effects sure.

900p docked and 30 fps if the port is done by Panic Button.

It's not gonna be 900p on Switch when it's 720p on the base Xbox One.

That said, KH3 should absolutely come to Switch, it'd be a big missed opportunity on the part of Square not to port it. It's UE4, which works well on Switch, and it'd sell nicely.

Great opening for Kingdom Hearts and Resident Evil, both are fantastic games from what I have played so far so well deserve to both Square and Capcom.

PS4 did better then I expect, but yikes it only beat the Switch by only a couple hundred units on the week its two biggest games of the year released, this will probably the be the best weak for the PS4 until the holidays and last it will top the Switch period.

In fairness the average price of those ps4 sold was well above that of the switch this week. The Switch is still the hot new hardware yet the ps4 in it's 6th year is desperately in need of a price cut. It's as simple as that.

The PlayStation 4 (PS4) ......., it was launched ....... on February 22, 2014, in Japan.

so it's turning five year old next month in Japan.

I think Switch  will be at the same weekly HW level after 5 year, but having sold way more units than Ps4 in the same period time.

Did anyone think that? My perception was that people were still predicting that Switch would outsell PS4 this week.

Looking at last weeks performance many would think that. Even with the PS4 on top this week (as it should with a release like KH3), only about 200 units more is nothing to write home about. In fact, it's pitiful to say the least.

I don't completely understand. If the PS4 did better than you expected, it's pitiful to say the least? It's a step up from abject failure, which is what was your prediction?

ETA: I get that it's no real victory for PS4, if that's what you mean. It sold alright HW wise. I don't really know any person actually predicting much better for PS4 though. It's kinda selling as expected.

Switch domination in Japan is bigger than I thought. I was looking for PS4 to have huge numbers,at least 20k OVER Switch's numbers due to KH3/RE2. Maybe I over hyped it though, which was my fault in the end. Switch steady with no big or noteworthy releases. Damn

That's the thing. I didn't think it sold alright at all. Last week it was supposed to do better but it didn't (leading up to KH3 you would think, so I was fearing the worst this week) and this week it could hardly outsell the Switch with a game like that. That is what is I am saying. It was expected to sell better but it didn't. The PS4 is spent in Japan.

Anyway, KH3 did really well.

The #1 crown of the week goes to Kingdom Hearts III which sold a whopping 610,077 units on PlayStation 4 for its debut. Below are the first week sales numbers of other entries as well as the remix titles in Japan:

(2009) Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days – 295,205 [DS]
(2010) Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep – 445,962 [PSP]
(2012) Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance – 213,579 [3DS]
(2013) Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix – 128,414 [PS3]
(2014) Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix – 84.935 [PS3]
(2017) Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue – 137,797 [PS4]
(2017) Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix – 62,770 [PS4]
(2019) Kingdom Hearts III – 610,077 [PS4]

With both RE2 Remake and KH3 coming out in the same week I expected PS4 to be in the 70-80k range.

The quality of software would suggest that; very good figures anyway.

Software figures are very good, hardware figures are not.

It's a nice amount for a Home Console in Japan. What really matters are the software figures.
