DO whatever you want. Who cares. Especially for me who doesn't celebrate it. Now an interesting question for me is what would be an eid avatar since we don't market and make merchandise off our only religious holiday(though there are two of them and they are quite different from each other).

Just tell your friend that they can keep the Christmas avatar if you are preparing for Christmas. There is nothing wrong with getting ready for Christmas in January.

Just keep til you get bored, have a friend who keeps Christmas tree all ywar (it preventes them to get robbed once so lol) also I gor shock while living in Japan because next day after Christmas all decoration and tree from malls was gone...
