The PS4 has now passed the PS3 in total sales - per VGChartz estimates (thank you CGI!).

That now puts the PS4 in 4th place on the all time best selling home console list:

1 PS2 151+ million

2 PS1 104+ million

3 Wii 101+ million

4 PS4 87+ million

5 PS3 86+ million

The PS4 will easily fly past the Wii and PS1 by mid-next year - moving into the No. 2 spot behind the PS2.

Depending on when the PS5 is announced/released - the PS4 could challenge the PS2 for the no. 1 spot - especially when it hits that permanent $199 price drop- but will probably end up in the 120-130 million range when all is said and done.

Can’t wait to see PS4 finish it’s life as the #2 best selling home console of all time.

It is quite insane how the PS4 has seemingly just cruising into becoming the second best selling console of all time after the issues the PS3 had during its lifetime.

Speaking of which, despite the rough launch, PS3 is still in the top 5 best selling home consoles of all time. That too is incredible. Goes to show just how much weight the Playstation brand name carries.

Very good, all Playstation consoles on the top 5 and very soon the TOP 3 will be only PS.

For me, it doesn't seem to have been that long since the PS4 came out. But then again, I've only had mine for just over 2 years. Ps4 just keeps going.
