Yeah, it did seem like the more new info that was presented, the worse the product turned out to be. By the time of its launch, it sounded like a mediocre machine that just functions I suppose, which is a bit of a shame. Kinda seems like Sony half-heartedly put this machine together.

I mean, it's ultimately what they said it would be

Not that that excuses the machine

Yeah, I do think they could have done more with the machine. Switch some games around here and there, and use the best working versions of the games, particularly Tekken.

Does anyone know if Japan PS1 mini is selling since they got better games?

Amazon JP sold through all of its initial stock. That's about all the info I can glean anywhere. Haven't seen any numbers saying how well or how poorly it is doing in any region.

Nope it is doing poorly there as well. It was not featured in any reports, which usually sign that it was not note worthy. Chris from Era said it was pretty much a dud in Japan as well.

If we get a pricecut in the U.S. I'll get one, $99 is way too high

Well, i got mine just so one day it can be display next to the other mini consoles. Im actually thinking on getting the Neo Geo mini

Digital Foundry did a great analysis and its a disaster.

Its funny, many of us were critical of the library but thats not even the worst thing about it.

Probably among them with Labo and some other obscure release we don't even care.

What a sad damage control.

I dont know a single person who has bought it and I live in Playstation land. It's very expensive, poor selection of games and just not a very attractive product.
It hasnt sold through many % of the initial shipment here that's for sure.

I remember when someone on this site said "It will do amazing regardless" and "we aren't the customers for this device". Looks like Customers for this device are in another castle.

Perhaps the customer base is in another galaxy or dimension =p

What damage control when I acknowledge that the system is among the biggest fails together with things no one even remember?

Sega needs to do a better job with theirs too. At games do a terrible job and have so for years now. We need a better variety of games other than the same ones over and over.
