Worth buying and playing?

I am asking this because I want to buy the game but I have heard a lot of bad things about it. I haven't really kept up with it since it launched, but I love pirates and the idea of sailing the open sea, even solo sounds very fun to me.

What do you guys think? Worth playing?

Rare has added quite a bit of content since launch with a few major free expansions and more to come. So content wise, it's a better time to jump in, but you'll get more enjoyment if friends are playing with you

If you like doing the same thing over and over and over again AND you have 2-3 people that you can play it with, sure, go for it.

There are lots of pirate games that you can play either now or are shortly on the horizon, such as Skull & Bones, Black Wake, Ass Creed IV Black Flag, or (my personal favorite) Blood & Gold.

There is also ATLAS which was recently announced which looks to be like everything Sea of Thieves tried to be but with actual meaningful content.

Give it a go on Xbox Game pass to see if it's something you like. I haven't played it myself, but I've heard good things since the last update. It's constantly in the top 20-30 most played games on Xbox so it must be doing something right.

This is like asking if Fallout 76 is worth playing...... sure? if your really bored and there isnt something else you rather try out...

(and no I havn't played either, dont need too to know I wouldnt enjoy either)

Yeah its actually top30 atm..... crazy, thought it would be much lower.

For sure it is. They've added plenty of content since launch. It's great fun to play with friends. Maybe buy a month of game pass and try it before buying.

Definitely don’t buy it. Give it a try via GamePass. It’s a fine timewaster with friends but it’s a mediocre game, unfortunately, even with all the updates. If you like online PvP you might get more mileage out of it. If you want a single-player or co-op experience with meaningful progression, however, it’s a non-starter.

What's that game called from atlas? It looks way better.

Assassin's Creed Black flag i would recommend.

If you have friends yeah go ahead and buy it
If you don't have friend to play with go the gamepass route.
The updates have been great and the game has improved a lot since launch
Also it has an active welcoming community.
