Forums - Gaming Discussion - New Beyond Good and Evil 2 Gameplay Demo

Judging by how no one anywhere is talking about this or the game I think we can assume that it's destined to have the same fate as the original in eventually not finding much success despite it being a potentially good game. Anyway here is new footage.

Sadly it doesn't look or feel like the original BG&E at all for me to care about it, and I loved the first one. I just wanted a direct sequel with the same artstyle and gameplay as before and this isn't it. This feels like it was supposed to be a brand new IP and then they decided to turn it into BG&E2 halfway through development. But that's just me.

I'm still reserving judgement on the game. I'm completely uninterested in the whole shared world elements the game has, and the fact that it's yet another Ubisoft open world game doesn't make me any more excited about it. However, I absolutely love the first game, so I'm still holding out hope that the single player content will be good enough to carry the game. The problem is that the more I learn about the game the less interested in it I am. So, we'll see.

Bingo.

That's exactly how I feel about it. I'm not saying it doesn't look good, but it's definitely not Beyond Good and Evil in my eyes.

Indeed. It could turn out good but it's just not BG&E. The question we should be asking is who is this game for really, because from what I've seen it's trying to appeal to fans of the original (barely) while also trying to capture a mainstream audience at the same time and it seems like it's failing to grab the attention of both of those audiences. Maybe it's just because it's really far off still, but that's the "vibe" I'm getting so far.

It looks so beta-like... this will probably release only on next gen and I wouldn't be surprised if it's still 5 years away from now. Btw, if they can fulfill their vision, this game would be groundbreaking.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

This looked very underwhelming. And the game seens to have a lot of tacked on multiplayer to justify microtransactions.

I wonder why Ubisoft calls this Beyond Good & Evil 2 when it looks like something entirely different. It's not like the IP does anything to pull in sales, so they might as well have made this game a new IP.

Probably because it has characters and a setting that is taken directly from Beyond Good & Evil?

Looks impressive. I'm glad that it looks at least somewhat different than the usual Ubisoft Far Cry/AssCreed/Watch Dogs hodgepodge of sameness.

It has character and style which is a lot more than most games have going for them these days. It's also neat that they are directly including fanmade stuff in the game, like how some Kickstarter stuff does.

As someone who enjoyed the first, this one seems very different, almost like a different game entirely. With that said, it looks like a fun game. The scale of the game is impressive!

The scale of this game is just incredible. It's amazing how you can just fly from a detailed city to the planets orbit. But I'm afraid that what they showed may be the only detailed part and the rest is just empty space. I hope that's not the case.

The story and characters is what made the first game great. I expect the same from this game
