Pretty obvious actually. 360 mostly sold in the USA where people in general buy more games than elsewhere and the ratio of PS4 and X1 is very different in the US this gen.

Also the PS4 number is way off this gen...Haven’t they just revealed something like 777,000 games sold for the 5th anniversary?

PS2 and Wii also sold very well in the US, so why do they have such a low tie ratio compared to the hypothetical 20+ of the Xbox 360? And please prove that people in the US buy much more games than people in Europe.

Retail numbers vs. retail + digital numbers.

So, for home consoles (where the comparison was PS vs Xbox) all three previous PlayStation systems sold better than any Xbox machine. The Vita is not like the PS1-4. Saw none of the same support from Sony (their own fault) and is up against a competitor that is unmatched for handheld devices.

Well sure, what else would I be talking about? 

Consoles are not exclusive to home variants. So the worst selling Playstation console has done worse than any Xbox console. The reverse of that is that 4/6 Playstation consoles have sold better than any Xbox console, and PSP almost matches Xbox's top spot. 

CGI mirrored exactly what I want to convey. Just like how the Gameboy and DS series target patterns differently than of Nintendo's home consoles.

The PS3 launch was a failure. The system took Sony four years before it turned a profit. The only reason it sold so many units was because Xbox360 and PS3 was the longest generation cycle. The PS3 turned the ship around and was successful in the later year of it's cycle but overall it was dark time in Sony Playstation history. 

In the end all of PS3 shortcoming gave way to the extremely successful PS4 launch and becoming the darling of this generation.

PS4 is gonna end up selling north of 120 million units, giving it a good third place for all-time.

Congrats to Sony. They played all the right cards this gen. Heres to another great gen.
