Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox or Sega? (In terms of consoles)

I prefer...

Xbox 35 41.67%

Sega 49 58.33%

Total:84

Hard to say. I spent most of my childhood hating Sega only to get a Dreamcast and love it.
I spent a fair amount of my adulthood hating Xbox only to get an Xbox 360 and love it.

Both have a scrappy underdog feel and both offered some things that I'd never seen before. Xbox 360 and Xbox One became my primary gaming platforms while they were on the market. No Sega console has accomplished such a feat. I guess I'll go with the Xbox family.

Sega, by far.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Nostalgia and my undying love for the DC makes  me want to say Sega...but their consoles where always underpowered and the blunders with the 32x, Sega CD and Saturn aren't easily forgotten. Xbox had two great consoles in the OG XBOX and the 360 in terms of design and horsepower. Their only  blunder console wise has been the underpowered and overpriced (at launch) Xbox One. The thing plays RDR2 at 864p with noticeable visual compromises while the base PS4 ( same age as the Xbox one) can still deliver a solid 1080p experience.

Sega. Definitely..

And to people who complain about the Saturn, it was a superb system.

I like it even better than I do the Genesis/Mega Drive..

While I have fond memories of my Genesis and I am not a fan of XBox in any way, I have to say XBox this time.

Sega just made too many mistakes after the Genesis and it eventually led to their downfall in the console space. The Dreamcast was doomes before it launched due to this, even if it was a smash hit.

SEGA.

Omce upon a time they actually made stuff I enjoyed. Microsoft doesn’t.

NEC vs SEGA , please.

When we had MegaDrive/Genesis I was a total Sega fanboy, and I was in love with Saturn without being able to have it, but played RE on it at a cousin. Then Sony came with PS1 and robbed me with Tekken and Bushido, was the first console I bought for myself.

To this day I preffer Sonic to Mario. Never hated Nintendo, but even though I liked their games as a kid and teen, I never loved them as much as Sega or kept on their system as Sony.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Please no joke. Of course Sega.

Xbox. Better controller, graphics, online and games. People tend to forget Sega is kind of like Nintendo when it comes to third party support. Very limited and Sega's first party wasn't all that great.
