Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: Nintendo plans to release a Zelda game on Switch every year

So its bad when Assassins Creed does it but for Zelda it's ok? Consistency please...

If I must have remakes, I would like an HD collection of 2D Zeldas: LoZ, AoL, LttP, LA, Oracles,Seasons and Minish Cap at least. Give me something like Wonder Boy and the Dragon's trap, where I can switch between old and new graphics and music, and maybe offer up a few quality of life improvements, otherwise keep them classic.

Everything else has been remade in the past few years, tho HD versions of the N64 games migtbe nice. If bringing back Skyward Sword, please help me shut up sword girl. I feel like that game has a lot of other problems, but not many that can be quickly solved by something like the turbo sail in Wind Waker HD.

I assume ports will cover this. I don't think Nintendo is capable of making a new Zelda every year. Four Swords is ripe for a revival though and shouldn't be too complicated to make

There is a lot of Hyrule Warriors in that list.

Thank you for your advice but it doesn't the fact that what Nintendo said is true and Hyrule Warriors was on 3 different systems, 3DS ver also is different than Wii U ver, Switch ver have all the contents from Wii U/3DS ver and some exclusive contents too.

Let's call it a strong suggestion. You don't need to be spamming the same response 3 times in a row.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Assassin's Creed gets a mainline title almost every year and have a very similar style while Zelda is a mix of mainline, spinoff & remakes with very different play styles.

Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors, Triforce Heroes, Link Between Worlds, Skyward Sword are so different from one another that they could easily be their own separate IP.

As long as the Zelda ream focuses only on main entries with their regular 5 year development cycle I have no problem with this. If the team will be compromised then I fear the series will become a pedestrian franchise within a decade.

I would rather have a new flagship mainline title every 3-4 years rather than 5.

Well if things like a second port of a spin-off are counted than yeah sure it could be a yearly franchise. Personalliy I wouldn’t count this year as a year whit a Zelda release though.

Working with in the same engine and gen it is possible my point is I don't want a yearly wateredown rehashed Zelda just because after 30 years Nintendo has finally decided that it is time to milk the series.
