RDR2 is my bet R* do a fair bit better in Japan than other western devs, I think they've had two games cross 500k which better than even a number of Japanese developers.

I also think that Spiderman will win. But maybe you underestimate Red Dead Redemption 2 ? :) Because:

a) many japanese people like cowboys (Key-words: Hideo Kojima, Cowboy Bebop, old western movies)
b) RDR2 will be one of the best games ever, I suppose. And a big chance for the Game of the Year.
c) Thanks to GTA5 there are more "Rockstar Games"-fans in japan (gta5 had strong sales)
d) It will be more successful than the first RDR-game (my forecast for Japan and worldwide)

RDR sold 96k in it's First week (according to Media Create) back then (140k overall) so RDR II may get 200k at least

Thanks for this infos. Currently Spiderman has sold nearly 300,000 units on PS4/disc in Japan - digital sales unknown. Let's see what the first two weeks of Red Dead Redemption 2 will look like. Overall, I think RDR2 beats RDR1, easy.

Spiderman easily, cowboys are not popular in Japan at all while same cant be said for super heroes.

Unfortunately, as digital takes a larger and larger slice of he sales pie, these prediction threads become less and less relevant. We're not likely to hear actual JP sales numbers for either of these games, unless they are particularly impressive. So, we'll never know if anyone is correct in their prediction.

With that said, I'm going with RDR2. My reasoning - I flipped a coin and it landed cowboy hat side up.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will have strong sales in the first weeks in japan. But overall, Spiderman and Call of Duty will be the most successful game from the west, I think. Spidey wins the poll, currently.

Sorry i voted in the poll before i realised you meant Japan. Long term i expect red dead to have good legs. Not huge numbers but chugging along to the point where it hits a high number in a few years. Not so sure spiderman will do that. Bo4, spidey and rdr2. A very interesting battle in Japan. Bo4 has to be the favourite atm.
