Forums - Gaming Discussion - I'm wondering is there something wrong with millenials? I hear younger generation trash it on PS4

The reason why people think Millenials are bad, is because we all grew up with the internet. We also had to grow up with the horrible repercussions of smaller government. Health care is insanely expensive because the government refuses to step in and control prices. Student loan debt is out of control, because regulators refused to shut down for-profit schools. As a result, the generations that came before us see us as lazy, and broke.

But all the stuff that makes us Millenials seem bad, (or actually be bad), is effecting Gen Z just the same. So they should have no reason to look down on any of us.

Your comment makes no sense, as government in the US (You seen to be speaking from a US perspective) is much, much larger than it has ever been, and has been growing tremendously throughout your entire lifetime, along with the problems that you mentioned.

I've seen plenty of millennials that had great work ethics and were very well spoken. The biggest losers I've known in my life have tended to be boomers and Xers. I'm an Xer.

"the government will take care of me" is why they suck and know nothing. Know nothing of failed socialism that has been tried for years over and over with the same result of millions suffering. Government is NOT the solution but indoctrination in schools has taught them otherwise.

Once the liberty is lost, there will be no place to go if the USA is a socialist country, im all for sending them to others that do to keep the mandate that is socialism. bc i will just quit my job before i let my paycheck be taxed to hell.

I will be waiting when they come for me for not believing as they do.

Isn't every generation trash-talking about whatever comes before and after them? It's what people do. Always trying to make themselves look better than the rest and stuff. It's stupid. But I can understand when it comes from kids. They don't know better. I was the same when I was young.

That said, I'm proud to be a millennial and I am happy to have experienced the 90s first hand! That decade was totally awesome and I feel sorry for anybody who wasn't there. =P

Edit: Also, who the fuck is drake?

Nathan Drake, you know, from Uncharted.

Millennials are criticized for many things. The main criticism is that they're soft and lazy.

I am a Millennial.
I am willing to place money down that I work harder than allot of those from my prior or successive generations.

We didn't all grow up with internet though, it's the thing that opposes us to Gen Z. Millennial start in 1980, we're the last generation who "played outside" when we were kids, while Gen Z plays on computers and their parents iPad when they're 3 years old.

Millenials learned life without internet, and then grew up at the same time as internet, which makes us IMO more logical about it than other generations (we know how to use it, but we also know that life was possible without it). Gen Z kids are the one who would kill themselves if they had to live without internet for more than a day.

Millennial are those who were born between 1981-1996.
We had dial-up, not everyone had access to it though.

However... By the time we were "old enough to know better". - Internet was commonplace... And we were the first generation to leverage it fully.

I was using the internet from probably 1992 onwards, before Windows and Internet explorer was ever really a thing, but I am probably the exception rather than the rule.

Google says 22.

Usually millenials are born between 80 and 00, but it's true that people born in 99 are a lot closer to Gen Z than to the rest of Gen Y (officially born as Gen Y, but grew up in the same conditions as Gen Z).

Key part is surely 'millenium'. If they don't remember the millenium, they don't count. By then the internet was fully working, iPods existed etc.

Hmm, pie.

The worst part about them is that they're younger than I am, so I'm gonna die before they do, and that upsets me. Damn millenials.

Most of Gen Z are kids still so I don't see how you can even take what they say seriously.

You're right about everything else though. The previous generations destroyed the economy (and the environment  society, etc...) and think that Gen Y is bad because we can't succeed as easily as them. Gen Y has to repair a lot of damage done by baby boomers and Gen X.

But I disagree about OP though. Everyone trashes Gen Z, more than Gen Y. Gen Z kids are the Tide pod challenge and Fortnite dances generation, usually considered the dumbest generation ever, intellectually impaired due to too much exposure to internet and social networks at a young age. My little sister, who was born in 1996 and is a "late millennial", grew up with millennials but then saw a lot of Gen Z kids when she was in high school (being a elementary/middle/high school together). She always told our family that she was impressed by how dumb and disconnected from reality the kids from Gen Z were. So really, don't mind too much what Gen Z kids say about millennials. I bet they don't even know what that means anyway.

^^ this sums up how I feel quite nicely. Good post.

Millennial is just another meaningless label, as if when one is born defines who they are.
