Considering the Switch version will most likely contain extra content, why would they undermine the ps4 version? It's best to not show it at all

It's been out in Japan a year, the game's most important market, it's not going to undermine it at all. And PS4 will most definitely get the content after a while anyways

PS4 version only just released in the west this month though so it would impact its sales if has more content especially with the momentum JRPGs are finding on the Switch and the 3DS version not being brought over.

It'll probably have voice acting in the Japanese version and hopefully that sicko Sugiyama will put his orchestrated music in the game. I'm also thinking they'll somehow put the 3DS version in the game as well, but that's maybe a stretch. The SNES styled version would be a nice bonus.

I was referring more to the western sales

Honestly i think the franchise has a small but pretty hardcore fanbase in the west that aren't going to wait for a Switch-version so sales won't be affected

Right. There's no way it would effect the sale at all so I can't really buy that excuse on square's part.

I guess Square wants to make this look like a new game to earn more money with it. lol

Like any late port, be it for Switch, PS4 or Xone. Its the reality of business.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

The fact that we have it officially announced is already good enough for me, I can wait =P

The only thing I really hope for is that they keep voice acting optional like in the other versions if they are adding JP voices (In fact, I wish this was an option in more games!).

I have a feeling it may have a feature where it's based on the PS4 version as confirmed but you switch (no pun intended) between perspectives that mimic either the PS4 experience or 3DS one.

Voice acting, orchestral soundtrack, switching between 3DS and Switch versions ...

Companies have shown that they do not use the GBs of Switch cartridges to their full potential. Why would they start now?

Then game has been announced for years now. Why would footage of something we all know exists impact that?

And I think people are riding on the "new content" a bit much, because they've alluded to including what was adding during localization of the PS4 version. Square used to release "International" versions of all their games because they would add things during the formerly long localization times.
