Forums - Gaming Discussion - Telltale hit with massive layoffs, effectively closing down the company.

This might make me seem like an ass, but honestly, they deserve it for releasing shitty games with game-breaking bugs. I tried playing Batman Telltale on Switch. Got to the end of chapter 4, game froze. Nothing had saved and all my past choices were erased. Went online and found this to have happened to a bunch of other players. Found out that their games always suffer from these types of bugs, no matter the platform.

I was as so mad that I had wasted so much time on a game I had to essentially redo with no guarantee of being able to finish it. Had I known about these bugs, I wouldn't have wasted my time or money on their game. This annoucement just seems to be the natural course of things for a company that releases unpolished and broken games. I don't pity them at all. I don't care. I'm actually glad they're going under.

Well, when you act like a one track record and take on other IP's and not producing much of your own (don't misread that, *much* as in more than one or two), then danger is bound to lurk around the corner over time.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

ugh, no the wolf among us 2 now or an new tales from the borderlands (which was my personal favorite TTG title) Oh well, they should have invested more into their other series rather than ride TWD for so long.

That sucks. I really, really enjoyed the Batman one on Switch and was hoping it would get the sequel as well....

Really think the two should have been packaged together. Season 2 was already out at the time.

Yeah I think Telltale became the modern franchise-game company. What I mean is that by the end of the 7th generation most people thought movie or franchise tie-ins were dead. And  they were right for the most part, but then Telltale game and messed with so many franchises. They basically became the new movie-tie-in or TV-tie-in or Game-tie-in company, and brought that kind of negative image back to life just by themselves.

Also: "its always sad to hear a studio going under"

Remember a lot of these people could be rehired for even better work But you're right, still sad ...

Yeah, hopefully the employees are hired by other companies/developers.

Yes. It makes me wonder if the industry is growing in terms of job listings.

You're the most 90's person I've ever known. I literally just now realized that everything you do - not just some memes but all memes and every image you've ever posted, is 90's themed. Your mindset is 90's based. What happened to you? Are you depressed and now trying to recapture your childhood? Are you ok?

Not sure if joking...There's a lack of tact to these questions that's difficult to ignore. It appears you're posing them to antagonize me. Every image and all memes? I've posted stuff from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, and 10's, with the last 3 time periods being used the most often. You're ignorant to my posting history, which is understandable given you only see parts of it. Nothing happened to me. I'm not depressed. I wasn't a child for most of the 90's. I'm OK.

*Settled this the manly way

Don't you fucking change.

I like your posts a lot.

This is pretty sad and awful for all the people who've lost their jobs. I don't mean to downplay that, but IMO Telltale bit way more than it could chew by picking up so many projects instead of focusing on maintaining the quality that made them famous with the first season of the walking dead. There's some real talent in this company, but I feel like it was just spread too thin.

I make game analyses on youtube:

FFVI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSO6n8kNCwk
Shadow of the Colossus: https://youtu.be/9kDBFGw6SXQ
Silent Hill 2: https://youtu.be/BwISCik3Njc
BotW: https://youtu.be/4auqRSAWYKU

Wtf?! I was really hoping to see another TFTB game and such. They were easy games to grind for gamerscore, and easy to pick up when you were bored. Wow... wishing the best for those laid off.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

It was all a big misunderstanding. Like a Three's Company episode.

It was my bad really. Should have known he was joking.

Thanks though. Appreciated.
