Forums - Sony Discussion - Time the ultimate truth teller: PS4 Pro

"It will flop! Nobody wants reiterative consoles!"

"PS4 users will abandon Playstation if they announce PS4 Pro!"

"PS4 players gonna be mad when this comes out, Sony should never launch this! No one wants their OG PS4 get gimped for Pro!"

"What even is this?"

"Xbox One X better PS4 Pro is shit.""

"Lol Sony making a big mistake."

"Arrogant Sony is back once again."

Two years later. PS4 Pro is out of stock and in demand and the outrage over PS4 and Pro graphics was nothing but fake. The internet sometimes. SMH.

If someone asks why I'm using an alt account, CGI and Truckusaurus got me a temp approval until I get my iconic and notorious "kurasakiichimaru" account back. :p

Congratulations. Now we will get new updates to consoles every 2-3 years.

which you should be used to already, as you seem to own several Nintendo handhelds

The majority don't expect no compromise hardware or an endless buffet of games, they don't want to be feel forced but also don't want too many options, and they want as much as possible for what they can afford that's of reasonable quality. The Pro fits that bill. XB1 missed the mark and so did XB1X, regardless of everything else, which didn't help. PS doesn't have it all, but what they've made sure to offer is the best quality and variety you can get overall in a focused game console, for what you can manage to fork out, without it feeling forced or complicated, with a steady stream of games over time.

I'm all for mid-gen upgrades as long as they don't get any exclusive content, or extend a generation several years. This has been my take since Nintendo announced the New 3DS long before the PS4 Pro was a thing. The way Sony's handling the Pro has been great, I'm not missing much as a standard PS4 owner, and PS5 is not that far off.

And lets not forget the DS and DSi... or the GB and GBC. Mid-gen upgrades are nowhere near as a new phenomenon as some people think that they are. As an OG PS4 owner I do not think I am missing out on much by not buying a PS4P and just as you, I am more than willing to wait for a PS5 release that should happen in the next 2 years.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Perhaps people's minds just changed after seeing how the consoles are handled. Many thought dev focus would shift more than it has. I'll be the first to admit that I want too I impressed when they were first announced because of this.

Nothing wrong with changing your mind. Much healthier than making a thread like this based on a few opinions that apparently annoyed you enough to make a thread about 2 years later.

I don't own the New 3DS, no...

My OG PS4 has not been made obsolete so I'm fine. Still not a fan of mid-gen upgrades. When I buy a console I want the best for my money.

Most probably I'll buy a PS5 two years after its release and would be insanely disappointed if a PS5 Pro released a year later at a similar price.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

OP has a point, there was alot of backlash.... and yet it seems to have been a huge success story.
