Forums - Sony Discussion - Playstation Classic Announced, releasing in December 3rd with 20 games pre-loaded and cost $99

We didn't think Sony would let Nintendo have all the plug n play revenue all to themselves did we? ;-p

Wonder what other games we can expect considering it doesn't come with the Dual Shock-version of the controller

It was pretty obvious this was coming, the PS1 has enough nostalgia behind it that Sony would be leaving money on the table if they didn't.

Here's the Playstation blog on it.

The system is powered by USB, if its anything like the SNES and NES classics you should easily be able to dump rom's of other PS1 games into this system.

I'm expecting at least to have Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil 1 on this.

Crash and Spyro though, should be interesting since this comes out a couple weeks after the Spyro and I can see Activision not wanting them in this system.

Live footage of Kerotan:

Sony saw how much money Nintendo was making with the classic mini consoles, of course they would dip.

Also yes, I will get it. What am I? A savage?

Imagine if the N64 classic comes out this year LOL. It would be the return of the late 90's console war.

lol what. Literally just today he was arguing with a user about the importance of backwards compatibility and how he didn't care about playing older Playstation games.

"I'm saying that if this gen Sony hadn't been releasing lots of top quality games but instead were focusing on bc id be pissed. I want quality new games not old games i don't play anymore (for a reason).
