Forums - Sony Discussion - PlayStation Is UK's Third Most Relevant Brand (Nintendo #11, Xbox #17)

eww at #1 being apple.

Quite funny that dyson is on there but not hoover though, since hoover is the default name used regardless of brand. It's also used as the verb (eg. I'm hoovering the house).

So in the UK, Hoover is the Kleenex of vacuum cleaners?

Not really surprising to see it in the Top 5.

Being able to use it for any kind of media has made it a central hub in many homes. When you look at how certain games have exploded too, it adds up. FIFA, Fortnite, GTA5, Call of Duty. They're all performing best on PlayStation.

Where is MS? Don't you guys got PCs? Not surprised Nintendo is ahead of Xbox, after all it is Nintendo in its entirety including 3DS,Wii, Wii U, Switch, Pokemon etc. vs basically just 360/XB1.

Edit: I see it at #32.

That is unexpected... Playstation above Nintendo, while Sony itself is close to it (and ahead of Xbox) and all are much ahead of Microsoft.

EU has always been a PS stronghold so its not really big news imo. I'm mostly surprised LEGO is #2

Right! I thought kids stopped playing legos and move on to smartphone, PC  and console gaming

Why is that unexpected? Nintendo doesn't have anywhere near as much nostalgia attached to it here in Europe as it does in the US. Console gaming didn't take off until the PS1 came out, so the majority of nostalgia here is focused on PlayStation.

I'm talking all items together.

Nice. Congrats, Sony. And congrats to Nintendo for getting damn close to the Top 10.

What, PlayStation being overall #3 is unexpected?

Hmm, I dunno PS (and console gaming in general) is pretty big here. Although I do think Amazon and the NHS not being higher up (and ahead of PS) is surprising though.

It is also that Sony is ahead of Xbox and Microsoft. Microsoft should be quite more well know than the rank suggest.
