I think the game got a bad rap because it was a terrible launch title.  It just wasn't the kind of game that really showed off a new console.  But, I think it's actually a lot better than Tropical Freeze or Rayman Legends, which tend to get tons of praise.  Particularly the Luigi U portion.  

I didnt enjoy that game at all. Much prefer DKTF but its still a polished game so maybe it can.

No. I want one but I do not really play games all that much anymore. I have only bought 1 game in the past year and the last game O completed was Crash Nsane Trilogy on PS4. When I eventually have my own place I may game more. A Switch would be perfect actually because I may be traveling a lot next year.

Wrong. If it flops Nintendo thinks the series is on a downward turn and will not bring another. If it succeeds there will be a new entry.

And ports basically take no resources away from new games. In the contrary, they are a good way to train new staff. I say each port is at max one tenth of the resources of a new game. In most cases way less, more like 1 hundredth.

People have to remember Luigis Mansion if thinking about ports. The port of Luigis Mansion on 3DS did not mean no other Luigis Mansion, it meant the preparation of Luigis Mansion 3.
