I've never known that about you Rol. It's good to hear your views have changed. I think it's really good to look at the individual and not the color. There are good black people and there are bad black people the same can be said for any other race. I never realized the black community was this big on here, I thought it was just me and 1 or 2 other people.

Are you being serious or joking? First you say that there is no such thing as "how black people act" and that black people are just like everyone else, but then you start to list those things like "black people are more accepting of others".

Black people have darker skin. Thats all that there really should be. Skin color is skin color. Nothing more, nothing less.

Problem is not that people see that someone has darker skin, but all of the generalizations that they make based on that. People should be more vary of generalizations directed at things like skin color,gender, amount they play games, eye color, religion, nationality or sexual orientation. Even if there statistically some truth in some of the generalizations, people are still individuals and statistically differences are mostly between individuals and not between groups.

Treating  people the same despite of their sexual orientation or gender is easier than treating people with different skin colors or religions the same. The effects of discrimination based on skin color/religion are passed down and that makes it more difficult. I don´t know how for example US can solve that problem.

I live in a country with very few black people too, yet I've never seen much hate towards them. Nobody sees them as a threat because they don't live here. The only racism towards them comes from ignorance, not hate.

The people that are the most disliked are the ones that are most present here (Turks and Moroccans), since people feel more threatened by them.

No need to apologize Rol. To be honest I don’t remember reading anything racist from you. Maybe I’m not here enough . Anyway, racism is real and we all know this. But it can also be trivialized and minimalized. There’s nothing I hate more than overtly racist things being touted as “not racist” when it’s as plain as day. Well, there’s one thing I hate more. That’s something that’s not racist being labeled as such. These things only serve to cheapen the argument and add a “cry wolf” type of outlook on actual racism. Anyway, I love how you ended your write-up. Because I’ve always said that the day we can hear a white guy make joke about a black guy and not have him sent to racial sensitivity training is the day we’ll achieve true racial equality.
