Honestly, I still don't think that the features on offer justify the price of the service. I know it's cheaper than the competition, but Nintendo isn't exactly providing a wealth of content or features on the service at launch. 20 NES games at launch is laughable considering the massive backlog of games that Nintendo alone has on offer. If this turns out as another drip feed of one or two new games a week like they've done in the past on Virtual Console, then I just don't see myself paying for the service any time in the next few years at least.

Still no word on which NES games it will come with? It's a bummer they are sticking with NES games for now when there are so many more capabilities.

That's one of my main issues there. Nintendo could put games from several different consoles on the service from the very beginning, but instead they are limiting it to just the NES for some baffling reason. I also don't really expect those 20 games to be anything out of the ordinary, just the same names that have been released countless times on various systems over the years. Maybe once the SNES, N64 and maybe even the Gamecube are represented on the service it starts to become worth the asking price.

Really looking forward to the cloud saves so i don't have to worry about my BOTW and Xenoblade saves anymore

Luckily I don't play any switch games online.

So far I am not too excited about this. One would have hoped that Nintendo would have at least a catalog of Nintendo Classics from NES-N64 era right at launch. Also the monthly "free" game for paid subscribers etc. Then again I am not shocked at the barebones approach, the Switch is shockingly app free (no youtube, netflix, internet browser apps) for a powerful 300 dollar tablet device. I love my Switch for the first party games....but I wish at times that I could watch Netflix on it and browse through some of my social media apps. The 3DS was actually much more pro active in that regard.

That's why I am wondering. I mean...I already have an NES classic. I get the portability aspect of it but if they are just going to send out the same games again and again, I doubt I'm going to bite. I need more incentive than just being able to play these games on the go and online...though I will probably end up getting it for Smash....:/

Exactly, especially as there's no doubt of that fact that all of those 20 games will have been released on both the Wii and Wii U Virtual Console's as well, in addition to just the NES Classic. I can see this service becoming worthwhile at some point later, but as it seems to be at launch, I don't see any reason to pay for it.

No matter how bad and limited Switch online is, y'all will still buy it to play Smash online. That's why they will never learn it.

By the way.

Do you have a Nintendo Switch ?

I love how people expect access to Nintendo's entire back catalog for $20 per month

No, because I had a Wii U. So a Switch doesn't offer me anything new or special atm.

I'm beginning to wonder if Nintendo will ever put out a proper direct for the coming payed online.

I'm sure they'll give us a few details during the next couple of Smash Bros directs.
