of course i will pay for it, i play way too much splatoon 2 and i plan to get SSBU. and 20$ per year seems reasonable. i know it's not as good as the online service of microsoft and sony, but you pay less too.

plus it seems that SSBU have messaging between friends, so that's a plus for that game...

Surely we'll have the option to send messages to our friends via the Switch OS one day? I mean it still baffles me that it's not possible right now.

yeah, but nintendo seems to let communication between player more on the game side than the OS. Fortine have voice chat, so we know it's possible on the switch. SSBU will have messaging, maybe even voice messaging...

Maybe also that nintendo just have to take the first step. xbox live started as a primitive service back then, so let's hope that nintendo will grow it service on par with the others.

Yeah, and they killed off Miiverse, which would've offered this option. They could've at least kept the working system until the launch of the new online.

I enjoyed the little Splatoon I played and I really enjoyed arms, but I don't think I would pay $35 for it. Now Smash on the other hand? I play the Wii U version everyday

I'll buy the sub since me and my sister play Splatoon 2 a lot and Smash/Pokemon is right around the corner.

Honestly, I still don't think that the features on offer justify the price of the service. I know it's cheaper than the competition, but Nintendo isn't exactly providing a wealth of content or features on the service at launch. 20 NES games at launch is laughable considering the massive backlog of games that Nintendo alone has on offer. If this turns out as another drip feed of one or two new games a week like they've done in the past on Virtual Console, then I just don't see myself paying for the service any time in the next few years at least.

Nice, I was sick of playing P2P for free. Now I get to play P2P for $20!!

You get best of both worlds, you pay for a service that you yourself contribute.

Mainly I’m interested in the access to the Virtual Console library.

I don’t care about price, I mostly want access to the same games that I have on Wii plus some of the new Wii U ones. I did have a gigantic library. I want the security of knowing those games are available to me and not lost to the abyss of time.

Also, I hope they start porting over some SNES and Wii titles as well. Mega Drive games would be really cool as well.

Online features for these games sounds really cool. Although I want more details on that, like if it’s just play? Or will there be progress reports and media sharing?

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
