That's not a good reason to not announce it.

It actually is. I still hold out on Dragon Quest XI 3DS, because I wanna know if DQ Switch possibly covers the same content or is overall more appealing. If I wouldn't knew about DQ Switch,, I already would own DQ 3DS.

That makes sense from a scummy business POV but it's anti-consumer and hence I don't consider it a good reason.

Not sure they earn more sales from double dip than  they lose from delayed release. But it surely would be anti-consumer to decide to release later just to get double dippers (although when budget is the question and releasing for less plat before makes the game release faster it can be acceptable)

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

This was very expected after Crash Bandicoot was confirmed for Switch.

I wonder if publishers are just delaying or waiting to release their games on Switch because they want to sell more of the game. If you buy the Switch version you get a console and a handheld version, so you wouldn't need to buy another version. But if they delay the Switch version, then people would buy the PS4/XB1 version and then have to buy the Switch version later to get a handheld version. It just happen so often that it seems like a strategy at this point.

That wouldnt make too much sense, also that wasn't case with Crash, Crash for Switch was released alongside XB1 and PC versions of games, Switch version of Spyro can easily be released alongside PS4 and XB1 versions of games, it wouldnt be strange if Nintendo keep back announcement for Nintendo Direct.

It was released on the PS4 a year earlier. Also Activision has said that they are not currently making a Switch version because they want to focus on making the game the best it can be. So a Switch version shouldn't come until some time next year.

Which isn't a proof that they are holding it just to increase doubledip

It was released on PS4 a year earlier only because game has exclusive for PS4 for one year, point that after one year game was released on other 3 platforms also roves that. Despite that, I wouldnt suprised at all if Nintendo keep back announcement for Nintendo Direct, also like DonFerari stated, that isn't a proof that they are holding it just to increase doubledip in any case.

It just happens often enough. Is the Switch really that hard to make games for? I mean Dark Souls Remastered got delayed without much explanation.

I really hope this is true. When I was a kid, I loved both Crash and Spyro, and wished against all hope that somehow they could magically come to a Nintendo platform, but thinking there was absolutely no way since they were first party franchises. Then they went third party, and I got my hopes up, but both series went downhill after that, and I just wanted the original trilogy remade for a modern Nintendo console. Now I'm halfway there. Don't let me down! Not when we're this close!
