No, because personal political beliefs and games don’t mix.

Normally I won't. If you do then you might miss out on a really good game just because of some minor disagreements with the makers/game direction. Could be a lose/lose situation.

That's probably going to limit you a fair amount from Western devs based in the states as a great many of them voted for him

What data do you have around that statement? I know factually that Trump did not win the majority vote. Do you have data around what companies are lead by fascism supporters?

You can know that still within reason he was voted for by approx 50% of the people in USA, if you are playing a game created there, as the credits roll by ever second one of the names who made it are the reason Trump is the president of the free world.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

What does Trump have to do with this thread? There's already a thread dedicated to that kind of discussion, so bring it over there.

I buy games based on their quality. I could care less about a political message if it's subtle. However If it's something that intentionally try's to portray a group negatively or something like that then I'm staying away. I haven't really run into any games like this TBH.

Actually, no.  You're not accounting for the fact that only about 60% of eligible voters actually voted.  So, the actual number would be a little less than 30%.  And as I believe games are more likely to be made in larger cities, that would skew the results even further. So, probably like one out of every 4 names at best.

Yes. I don't require developers to be politically correct but they at least should be politically adequate. Meaning they should respect the essential of human rights (no torture, female mutilation, persecution etc.) and be accountable for saying dumb stuff or supporting such politics.

It's like, well, you can support dumb if you want, you are free to do so, but people are free as well to feel offended, call you out on having a dumb opinion, and act on it.

Sometimes political brigades, specially on the left, do make an issue of things that should not be so, but sometimes, as well, people are totally right to feel offended, and that doesn't mean they are soft, or anything.

I said no, not because I would never boycott a game, but because it would take quite a lot. Nowadays people boycott if the main character isn't the race/gender they wanted, and that's just dumb to me. Even if a developer has a belief I disagree with or even if they have an agenda with the games they make, so long as that agenda doesn't outright promote establishing a dictatorship or genociding or being really nasty to a particular demographic, I'll probably still play if I find the game fun and engaging. I didn't boycott Ender's Game just because I found out the author hates LGBT people. It wasn't reflected in the books, so I didn't see any need to boycott, as they were good books. I'll admit I treat other, non-art products differently, and if that makes me a hypocrite, so be it, but I feel like art deserves to be treated differently, be that movie, book, or video game.

If the game pushes Far right or far left agenda, I will give it a pass and encourage others to do so as well. IF it is a Farcry 5 or GTA V and makes fun of politics, I'll buy it if the game is good (And I did buy Farcry 5, it's amazing).

In the case of The Last of Us 2, and its clear agenda pushing, and a shitty developer attacking real fans to protect some phantom consumer who won't buy the game to begin with, instant boycott, never even going to watch it on YT.

Hell, when I have Children, I will never let them play any game that aims to socially engineer them..

If it's intentionally trying to alienate your core fanbase by removing a core feature/element simply to cater to a bunch of holier-than-though neanderthals who will never and have never bought their games, you better believe I'm voting with my wallet.

*cough*DOA6*cough* And the Marvel SJW comics released last year, which ironically, Shimbori admitted to taking inspiration from. It gets worse, though: he's now gone on record saying women with large breasts aren't human and they reduced their size to make them appear as such in their latest game. Wow, as if I needed any more reason to steer clear and away from this game, keep digging with that shovel, KT and TN.
