Forums - Sales Discussion - Japan’s top 100 best-selling games of 2018 by Famitsu

Hmm, interesting. Monster Hunter is only title so far this year breaking into the phalanx of Nintendo evergreens. Only Kirby of the Nintendo-followups to MonHun is a title released this year. Anyways, until the end of the year the list will be shaken up a little (I hope). Yokai Watch, Sonic Racing, Pokemon, Smash, Kingdom Hearts, MegaMan, Code Vein and Mario Party all have a chance to enter the TOP 10.

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

Kingdom Hearts & Code Vein are next year and Sonic isnt very popular in Japan.

It pains me to see 1-2 Switch above anything. Please stop buying that game, people.

Shouldnt you say: Please buy other games as well, people.

Never understood why someone wishes games to be less successful.

Have you never wished that a band, or a tv show (especially reality tv), or a celebrity was less rich/famous because you think they're a talentless hack, or it's a show with zero creativity, talent/skill or value?

It's the same thing. If you think someone has no talent you don't want them to be popular, if you think a game is terrible, a cash-grab, devoid of any soul, talentless etc... You don't want it to be selling tons of copies.

Only next year? Oh damn, the lineup for this year on PS4 in Japan starts to look thin then. Well, not really the full lineup, but big guns are missing then. Or fired, because MonHun surely is a big gun.

I could definately question why something is as popular as they might be. But if what they do is not wrong in any way, why would I wish them less success?

That's just sad..

Then you're part of a very very small minority.

"Why would I wish them less success?" Because you don't think they deserve the success?

Pretty sure we got some shipment data in this release as well. Got to see a couple games like will likely never sell through their first shipment for years.

Kingdom Hearts is January and Code Vein just got delayed to 2019, same with Granblue Fantasy which was a potential big hitter.
