First video I watched from your playlist. If this is what the movement is, which I don't know if it is, then screw #WalkAway since it's supporting terrorists like the Israeli government and the yahoo whose name is Netanyahu who want to basically genocide all palestinians. Non American and thank God. USA is a war monger and terror state just like Israel. I would be happy if the US loses all it's power and I hope it can have a successful economy and people will be happy and content there, but the US army needs to be disintegrated without any fraction of it remaining. Screw this movement if this is what it's about. If not and it's just political, I really don't care

You dint even listen to that short video and just amuse your own narrative. Then not bother to see another one. Typical.

But no, thats not what #walkaway is about, That was just the reason for that one guy to walk away. There are many different people with different reasons, some petty, some serious. But the most common reason for it is how the left is acting like babys crying over everything. Calling everyone racist(very much like what your doing right now) and seem to want communism. Again, its different for everyone but I believe that is the most common ground between them.

On the Israel vs the Palestinians thing, I personally believe that the left is definitely getting very racist towards jews, ironic since they call everyone a nazi. But while I wont say they are not guilty in what wrongs they committed over there, the left just defends the Palestinians like if they where saints. Theres been conflict in that area since forever. And Hamas was no good guy, I mean common, he had children for human shields. I say both sides are bad, but the left just jumped to the anti jew side.

That stupid kid shield thing is bs. Israeli "army" kills palestinian children without any Hamas for miles on end. They've constantly been breaking international law and expanding their territory. They attack nurses, hospitals, teachers and schools. They control who stays and who doesn't in Palestine which is just next level stupidity. That's like India controlling who gets to stay in pakistan. They force military service on everyone in Israel. Hamas might not be saints but Hamas has no nuclear bombs or sophisticated weaponry that can kill hundreds at a time. If Palestine was oppressing israelis., I would be by the Israeli side but they are not and Israel is which is why supporting Israel is just ignorant when you look at the facts. I watched the entire damn video and that's the only reason he gave. Screw liberals and democrats your little in fighting, it doesn't matter. There are people dying at the hands of a government with the latest military weapons and who want nothing less than the genocide of the palestinian people and they'll make any excuse to do it. Basically almost every decent person around the world, even Jews don't support Israel. They are neutral or on Palestine's side. This is not about Jews at all, I don't care whether Israel was Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist or atheist. Just like in Burma, there is a conspiracy to commit genocide here as well. The resolution in support of Palestine and against Israel was supported by basically everyone except US and the nation's to afraid to loose US's help. The reverse for a resolution against Hamas. The bigger threat is Israel right now, Hamas doesn't matter

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

While I understand not voting for an individual who doesn't align with your views, "walking away" from one party to the other doesn't really make any sense to me. The partisan divide stands on a philosophy, not just the talking heads who are visibly waving the partisan flags. If I were to leave the democratic party (not that I am a registered democrat, but I do largely agree with the philosophy of the left on most issues), I would leave to a party that more closely reflects my views, not the republican party who I fundamentally agree with on so many issues, especially when an individual like Trump is leading the party, who is pretty much the antithesis to leftist views.

If people are truly walking away to the Republican party, I can only assume that they never really held onto the philosophy are are simply someone who just gets swept up with the talking heads. While that is all fine, I don't think it really serves as an educated opinion on the state of the republican/democratic parties.

I see little to no value in the stories of these individuals beyond a mildly interesting, yet anecdotal curio (and as such fairly meaningless statistically).

And of course there are issues whether or not any of this is actually legit in the first place...

Everything they accused the democrats for I feel the Republicans can be accused of the same things.

I agree with that. They both become babys when the other is in power. Just happens that democrats are in the spotlight. But I do believe the crying the left is doing is more ridiculous and just looking to make a show.

May I ask why is a blue wave coming in November? As far as im aware red is spreading more and more.

Then your awareness contradicts reality, perhaps, since Democrats are consistently about eight points or so ahead of Republicans in voting intentions for November. Now, you might say it's either too early, or polls are wrong, since Trump got elected when he was supposed to lose etc. but Trump lost the popular vote well within the margin attested by the polls. It's just that polling in the midwest states, where he made large numbers of electoral votes on thin margins, didn't attest his advantage until it was too late.

Of course, a candidate like Hillary Clinton, who cares more about social and identity politics shared and pushed by a minority of voters (the Brahmanins, as Thomas Piketty would say) than economy for the small folk was certainly not going to fare well.

Dont thouse same poll show that trump has a higher aproovement rating as we keep going? I cant say that I would know which poll is better or more meaningful, butI can tell its not the way you paint it. Or at least as looking at one side that might favour your point. Now I will ask you, how many points ahead where democrats ahead of republicans in 2016? And if its down or up since then?

I feel like the Democratic party simply isn't as likeable as it was during the early Obama era. I would definitely consider myself to be a lapsed Democrat, I'm leaning more towards the progressive wing as opposed to conservatism but I do understand how someone can become disillusioned with the party in it's current state

Thats your problem right there. I said they are both guilty of wrong doing. I dont think we have any saints in either side. But the democrats like to paint Israel as the only bad guys. An that is what I believe that guy was upset about in the video. Even if you where right that Palestine is weak and getting dominated and whatever, it does not excuse them. So I will not defend them. And if they loose is on them, or both or something. They been at it for to long for anybody to care who was right or wrong after some much blood spilled on both side.

Must you go from one extreme group to another? WHats wrong with being in the middle?

I think when people say walking away does not mean they are joining the republican party. Its just them not being so into a side that no matter how dumb the argument, they just nod and agree with everything just cuz is your side. I dont think theese people would vote trump on 2020, but they would hold whoever runs on the left to a higher standart and not just agree with anything they say.

Wich I do belive is the right way to be. Lean to what ever side you want, thats fine, but when something they say is without a doubt awful like them wanting communism on the left, or the right wanting to remove internet laws. We have to stand against our own sometimes to avoid tyranny.

Oof. I hope this thread doesn't come back to haunt those who don't see the very possible blue wave coming in november.

I think Democrats are too disillusioned right now to generate a blue wave.  There is no fire or drive, nobody to lead them.  Republicans will lose a few seats probably, but it won’t be a wave.  If there is going to be a blue wave I think it happens in 2020, 2022 at the latest.

The right aren't saints either. They aren't the answer. People don't always have to pick a side. If it's something that you don't agree with, just sit on the fence and continue to live your life your way.

Edited comment.

A lot of them are either joining the Republican party or voting Republican. I watched a portion of a few of the videos and read a bunch of the tweets and a lot of them are very pro-Trump. This isn't a movement which is creating a new Left (like how the alt-right was essentially saying "I don't like the right, lets create a new one").

Again, if someone on the left doesn't stand for the liberal values and philosophies you believe in, don't support them, however, I agree that it makes much more sense to try to vocally support left leaning individuals who more closely match your ideals than it does to do a 180 and suddenly vote Republican. I support demanding better from the political parties, but that isn't really what this is about from everything I've seen or read.
