Forums - Gaming Discussion - DF: Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy on Switch/Xbone/PC

- Base Xbox One version is 1080p/30fps, basically identical to PS4 but with some minor performance blips

- Switch is 720p docked and 853x480 when portable, with trimmed back settings for things like shadow quality and ambient occlusion. Also some minor frame pacing blips and "doesn't feel quite as snappy" but "still pretty good" overall

- Xbox One X is full 4K at 30fps, compared to 1440p on PS4 Pro

- PC version is barebones in term of options but can reach 60fps easily even on low spec machines

Switch cant even run a simple remaster? Wauw!

Switch got the short end of the straw, which isn't entirely unexpected.
But still holds up well visually.

I think Switch version can be patched up seeing as it was more rushed compared to the X1

maybe with the power of the cloud?

That's a shame, really. 480p in portable mode ? Even Doom runs better than that. And not mentioning Bayonetta 2, ARMS nor Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which are more polished games and run at 720p@60fps

It should be born in mind that while the game's core design hails from the PS1 era, the graphics in the remaster were built from the ground up for the PS4, so we're effectively talking about a PS4 exclusive ported to a mobile device here.

Getting the game up and running on a system a fraction the size which runs on a fraction the wattage naturally necessitated some changes. To put things in perspective, the PS4 slim draws upwards of 100 watts during gameplay, Switch draws less than 18 watts when docked and even less when portable. Something had to give, and having played Crash on Switch myself, the cutbacks are generally well judged and it's a fine looking game. DF would seem to agree, as they ultimately label the Switch port "pretty good".

I believe every console did. switch version could have been much better, and ever other version could have had a 60fps performance   mode.

If i had a dollar for every Nintendo thread you wrote crap in I'd be richer than Bill Gates.
