Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4/XBO/NS - 2017 vs. 2018: Final Results!!!

I should note that I’m expecting big hardware adjustments for this week later on and will post them when they come.
But for now, the week before Black Friday - The Calm Before the Storm.
PS4 and Xbox One are noticeably, considerably down this week YoY. The cbox One is now down YoY overall after being up throughout the entire year. It was a good run while it lasted, but sadly we knew this would happen.
PS4 has now fallen behind by over 2 million and unless this year’s Black Friday and December blows last year’s out of the water, it will continue to go down.
As for the Switch, Pokemon Let’s Go came out this week, and it shows as Switch sales nearly tripled from last week and are way up from last year. With Black Friday set to be far bigger than last year and December seeing the launch of Smash Bros., it’ll be fun to see where Switch finishes this year compared to last.

Minor adjustments made:
Switch has been adjusted up from weeks 40-43.

Well, looks like both PS4 and XBO have passed their Zenith now, though the holiday season can still push them up again - but I doubt it

And with the first sales reports dripping in telling just how well Switch is selling, it's entirely possible that the Switch will overtake the PS4 in the last weeks despite the latter having a comfortable, commanding lead throughout the year.

Haha..........

So the switch is going to/could match and beat 3M lead in 6 weeks right?

Don't underestimate the Pokemon/Smash 1-2 Falcon punch! Nintendo sold over half a million more WW last December than PS4 did, with just XC2 and supply issues, so with 2 of their biggest IP and far less supply issues sales should be very vastly up compared to last year. Also, I expect PS4 to sell slightly less than during it's holiday season last year

Besides, trunkswd said that he's doubting the numbers they have are correct for the Switch in the most recent week and may very well be corrected up by some 100-300K, making the difference between the two right now closer to 2.5M

It's looking unlikely that it will pass PS4 but it should close the gap by a decent margin, I would say they will be within 1 million of each other at the end of the year.

Just made the PS4 adjustments.
As for Switch, no adjustments were made. Rather it was a miscalculation on my part.

Major Adjustments have just been made. All three systems have been adjusted up considerably!

Switch is doing very well and will be up by a lot, the other two will obviously be down; but that's a given at this point in their lifecycles even if people said otherwise at the beginning of the year (regarding PS4).

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won
