If the Switch sells at the same pace/percentage as last year, then yes.

Thanks for the thread. Personally i think ps4 will do 18m+. Sony were very Conservative with their 16m prediction and I think 17m is lowballing it too. Black ops 4 with blackout, bfv with battle royale mode, fortnite first holiday and Sony have the bundle rights, rdr2 and their mega hit spiderman. Plus fifa 19 will be huge in Europe. I just can't see them doing under 18m. Now if they cut the price we are talking 20m+ but I think they'll stick with holiday promotions and roll in the cash.

At this point are people going to buy a ps4 for fifa, cod and battlefield. Surely most fans of these franchises have a ps4 at this point? I can see spider man and red dead shifting a lot of consoles.

It's like gta v. Every year there is another million kids now old enough to get it and a console. Same logic for fifa and the others. They'll be decent sellers and will help with hardware.

With fornite being available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, iOS devices and Android devices, I don't see how this will boost PS4 sales.

It's boosting everyone's sales. Think of the millions of kids asking for a certain console this holiday so they can play fortnite. Ps4 is the most popular console so will benefit the most.

PS4 can't keep up with last year. It sold 20M in 2017, but is already over 1.5M behind in this year despite such sellers like Monster Hunter World or God of War. Spiderman might give it a short uptick, but considering weekly sales are behind last year by about 50-70k, it won't be enough to fight the general trend.

I do think 17M is doable for this year with PS4 at 199.99$ and Pro at 299.99$ from BF to end of year, as then it could outdo last year's December, which was pretty weak comparatively speaking, but 18M is too much imo unless PS4 is heavily undertracked this summer.

So, I did some calculations and at this point last year, the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sold through 48.4%, 32%, and 40.3% of their respective 2017 numbers.

If those same percentages were to hold this year, these are the totals that all 3 systems would finish with.

PlayStation 4: 17,141,226
Xbox One: 9,335,112
Nintendo Switch: 16,438,757

I think you can add the difference between launch week in 2017 and the accumulated sales of January and Febraury 2018 in the total for switch. Which would add 700'000 more or less.

This would even things out with PS4 at 17.1 millions for switch by the end of december.

Then Switch will have to sale 1 milion a month in 2019 to meet the 20millions  FY2018 goal by march 31st. Even if Nintendo counts shipped and not sold through.

This is the first time I think they actually can reach their goal for FY2018

Good Post and you could be right. Personally I'll go with 18m.

New week and some adjustments to previous weeks: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=237676

Apologies for the delay, I was on the road all day on Friday and busy helping my cousin clean his backyard this morning, now that I've had some time, I was able to update the charts.
Special thanks to Boffer as always for letting me know that adjustments have been made and I have updated the figures to reflect them.

All three systems were adjusted down due to NPD figures revealing slight overtrackage in the US for August. Meanwhile, the Xbox One managed to crack 3 million for 2018 in week 34, 7 weeks ahead of last year.

The Xbox has been doing amazingly so far but I cant help but wonder if it is gonna be enough to overcome the gap in week 47 (X1X launch).
